The paints I am using are Decoart Americana Decor: Metallics- 24K Gold, Matte Metallics: Ivory Pearl, FolkArt Treasure Gold: Antique Copper, Artist's Loft- Raw Umber mixed with Liquitex Basics Quinacridone Magenta. Paints mixed 1paint:2Floetrol, which is then thinned with a mixture of 90%water/10%Floetrol to proper consistency. Consistency: 1-2

Gina, when you refer to mica, are you talking about the mica in the metallic paints or did you add the ColourArte Primary Elements mica to the paints? I don’t recall you mentioning that you added mica to the paints. Perhaps I missed something. This is gorgeous! Thank you.

I love how the cells came up in gold! Which brought that color, or that paint at least in the areas we thought you were going to lose it. I have a question, why didn’t you use your corner catcher on the second corner when you were chill thing? What are you trying to keep us somewhat circular out of shape?

Lol. I just go with the moment. If I have too much paint, it needs to be tipped off. I cannot explain my thinking at that moment. It feels like 10 years ago. 😂

No. It’s a reaction between the paints. In nerd speak, the Rayleigh Taylor Instability. I go into which paints to use and how to test the paints you already have in video (20)

Hey Gina! Beautiful painting, as always. I had looked into buying your cards awhile ago but never found out one question I had. Do the cards tell you what colors are in the color pallets, or do they just show the colors themselves. Just curious since (as you well know) there are many different shades and undertones that make every "orange" or "blue" ect different from the next. Thanks so much for sharing! 🥰
@GinaDeLuca
@GinaDeLuca 3 жыл бұрын
They just show the colors themselves. Each has an associated video that shows exact colors, consistency and pouring medium recipe. I wouldn’t have been able to fit all that on the cards.

Hi Gina, beautiful as always. Have a quickie question tho...does the Decoart paint(s) need to be used to get the cells? Thanks!
@GinaDeLuca
@GinaDeLuca 3 жыл бұрын
Matte paints create cells in a straight pour. You can use many different paints. Video (20) breaks down how to find paints that will cell on their own.

Gorgeous almost spiritual...One question, Gina, how does knowing where the weight of the paint is help create your beautiful cells while tilting?
@GinaDeLuca
@GinaDeLuca 3 жыл бұрын
You can get VERY precise about which areas you tip off by using the weight of the paint. Say you want to tip off some from the middle, but don’t want to lose your corners. If you make sure the weight of the paint is in the center that part will move faster than the corners because it has the weight behind it pushing it.

I wonder if anyone else ever experiences this... when I torch my pours, no matter how tiny my flame, or how high I hold the torch, something in my mix evaporates to create huge flames in the air. I'm not scared of it any more, but I never EVER see this happen to anyone else. Even if I just use paint, water, and floetrol. It's literally every time. My torch doesn't do this when not over a painting, so it's not the torch's fault... Any ideas? I am mystified.
