@XtorLuera-zj7tz You're new to this, aren't you? Or extremely young. Go to search and find "Brett LaSala Engine" or "Fast Forward Race Engines Snot Rocket." It's *finally* had an aftermarket crank put in it when it was turned up beyond 2500hp to 3000hp-ish. I think that's when it got put in? But the previous owner *and* Brett ran it with a stock cast Predator block and stock crank *very successfully* and *nationally competitively* setting record after record with it. I'm a GM guy, occasionally Mopar here or there, but love it or hate it, the Coyote architecture is an amazing platform.

My fav is when ls guys say overhead cam is more "complicated" and "less reliable" that couldnt be further from the truth. You add a power adder and fueling hello 800-1000 rwhp stock long block and itll be pretty reliable too. Sounds easy and reliable to me not complicated and unreliable. Gm needs alot more mods with their pushrod stuff not to menrion more cubes.
@njdorset10505 ай бұрын
you missed the whole point of the conversation isnt it more complicated( reliable is false sure) and literally the major of any new engine is the tune pushrod stuff is dumb af and cubes arent necessary they are optional. im not even talking from a ls point im talking from currently rebuilding my own pushrod sbf (I've never even taken apart or rebuilt a complete engine till now) . i can get a child to rebuild it if i show them once or twice.

The barra is one of those motors that is both over and underrated. For an inline 6, its great, however if you look at it, its not worth the effort. On the stock longblock, it wont make more power than a 2JZ or coyote, and yet it weighs 100lbs more while having little to no support state side. Imagine yiu dont stock up on parts, and you need a head gasket, or water pump, or any part thats proprietary to the motor, but you have ro wait for it to arrive from Australia. Meanwhile, if the same happens with a 2JZ or coyote, you can run down to autozone/O'Reilly's and pick one up today or next day ship it.

coyotes are not better than any LS motor... period
@rickitysplitz7035Ай бұрын
Saying that Coyotes are not better than all LSs is hilarious. LSs are awesome at NA and boost, but 5.0s does boost better. I am seeing plenty of Coyote/Coyote based engines making the same number or even a little better. What does K24s, VR38s, 2Jzs and many others have in common that frequently make LS guys sweat? DOHC high revving smaller displacement motors. All of them kick ass and you clearly fail to see that potential. Even as a guy like myself that likes a little bit of everything in cars, that is a pitiful take bud.
@rickitysplitz7035Ай бұрын
If Coyotes DOHC nature was inferior, Chevy wouldn't be putting that 650hp NA 5.5 in their C8s huh? Clearly there is potential there.
