Heath you should make all those kids wear helmets when riding those four wheelers & dirt bikes! I have a friend here in NC who’s son will be in a wheel chair the rest of his life because of not wearing a helmet. He was an very experienced four wheeler rider Of 8 years, but when his 4 wheeler flipped & he hit his head on a big tree stump! The stump didn’t care that his head had no protection & it paralyzed him from the chest down with only a small amount of arm function left. So it only makes sense to protect their heads whether they going slow or fast accidents still happen when you least expect them.

Gabion retaining wall ideas... Where the kids dug the playground on the side of the mountain/hill, as preventive measures, you could do a similar platform all throughout and cover with some sort of breathable plastic or stone. In the bottom of the same wall or hillside towards the house, you can dig a shallow channel for water overflow or outlet as preventive measures for the land erosion under the solar panels. This is the second time your son find it fun to dig a hole in the same hillside. He is funny. He seem to have fun digging and playing in or on that same hillside. Beautiful family!!! Best

We are pro gun for all, pro atv, pro survival training and pro SAFETY. As the daughter of a full time mpls. firefighter he taught me many things. . One of them being, an accident is called an accident because u didn't expect it. My father sold his motercyle one week after his first 'spatula run' picking up a biker without a helmet. He did however keep our 3 snowmobiles, 2 mini bikes, 2 dirt bikes a Honda 200sx 3 wheeler as we grew up outside of the city in a small town as country kids...... but as a father and trained paramedic, with real world experience with accidents that could be prevented.... he made sure our asses wore helmets. Period. End of story. Kids get bumps and bruises.... and in fact I wiped out many times on my mini bike.... he never took it away. You bet ur ass if I woulda disobeyed and left my helmet off tho he woulda sold it on grounds of me being to immature and frankly stupid to handle the responsibility and be on it. And thats something taught thru example.... not learned by cracking ur skull first. Come on man..... you can do better. Kids eff up, it's ur job to put the boot down on the important stuff.

Hi from Arizona. I worked at Phoenix children's hospital ICU for many years. We see way too many kids with broken sculls, necks and backs due to ATV accidents. Something to consider, wear helmets, never ride without an adult supervision. Many parents don't realize that another BIG issue with ATVs and kids is the weight of the vehicle. I've seen kids come in with chest trauma due to the ATV flopping and falling on them, heck I have seen adults with the same trauma. The weight of those vehicles can kill a kid.

Alright, here's a story, Growing up in a rural area ATV's, dirtbikes, and things of the sort were just a part of life. Chores on the farm usually involved a quad pulling a trailer, whether out fencing, clearing brush or what have you. We seldom wore helmets, these are paths and trails that have we had been riding for years. We thought we knew them like the back of our hands. Unfortunately the smallest change can lead to a disastrous outcome. I remember showing up to school on a Monday morning learning a friend of mine had died over the weekend. At the young age of 11 this isn't something I even knew how to deal with. While riding through the pasture he hit a gopher mound that had been dug sometime between then and the last time he had ridden that trail. He wasn't wearing a helmet, and when he lost control the quad rolled and landed on him crushing his head. A helmet would have saved his life. 20 years later my quad keys are hung next to my helmet. If I'm doing any more than backing my quad out of the shop to make some room, then the helmet goes on. There is never an excuse to not wear a helmet.

Which caused me too loose control of the quad which then proceeded to roll over me and my sister, but we were wearing helmets and only came out of it a bit sore.

If so, maybe she could help three hours/day to get things wrapped up in between preparing breakfast and dinner. I am a retired finish carpenter please when you do the cabinets will you give more detail in your vidoes. My last job was at OCC cabinet company where not only did I have put together cabinets but also install them the works all milled from the wood mill by me. I miss that work so much I am to old to do that work and have so much respect for the trades. I am excited to watch you finish this house for your family. After all I have been watching since you started uploading the build. So please as a super fan show more details in the cabinet process I love wood so much and really miss it.

I got my first dirt bike when I graduated kindergarten. I had to master it before my dad would show me how to shift out of first gear. Kids will be kids and it will turn them into men. He wouldn’t let me have a four wheeler until I could buy one myself lol and at 16 I did!

Well from where I am I see a lot going on... I see dreams coming true I see fears being overcome and beaten I see the foundation for a long and happy family legacy that will go on generations to come. Great video.

@@wilburfinnigan2142 remember the scene in Tommy Boy where he cracks and breaks a 2x4 across the Tommy's head? I'm kidding, kind of. I honestly think he posts these various "risky" behavior videos (like lighting his cast iron wood stove with 2 cycle gasoline" to get attention and comments.

@@wilburfinnigan2142 in fairness to Heath, my parents never even had helmets for us, let alone make us wear them. In fact, my mother would tell me to go play and not come home until dinner. Of course parents used to openly beat their kids too. I can remember that being "the norm" in the store etc.

I like listening to your commentary as I watch the videos

Great commentary on your building and video skills, I don't even realized how invested I am in watching and listening but no FForward, I just wanted to see if you were drywalling alone and the whole house! I see you tried to contract it out and smart of you.

Have you considered at least helmets for all if not additional safety gear such as wrist protecting gloves, elbow+knee pads and even spine protector for the dirt bike?

My father who just passed this past early June used to make us buckle our seat belts when ever me or my mother got in the car, he was super anal about the car not moving unless everyone had their seat belts on. I can remember him doing this going back to my childhood, I am 38 years old now. We always thought it was kind of funny and sometimes annoying and laughed about it on occasion. When I became old enough to drive I always put my seat belt on first out of pure muscle memory, I can not remember even one time I ever drove without my seat belt, I have even had two occasions on which my seat belt had saved my life. When I look back at how weird or annoying I thought my father was for making us do that every single time, I am thankful for it. If you do this with your kids about wearing a helmet, they might rebel but in the end they will get used to them and eventually might even be grateful you did that for them. I never particularly found hanging drywall "hard" or physically difficult, for me it was a mental challenge considering how boring and repetitive it becomes. Either way you are doing an amazing job with your house, life and family.

Man I been watching you for awhile now and you have been hanging sheet rock the whole time I been watching. You have done almost all of it by yourself. I have major respect for you the way you take care of business and your mild manor. I just felt like I needed to say that. Keep making videos and ill keep watching.

Ive had about 6 dozen stitches, a little over a dozen fractures, and amputation, 20% body burns on both legs, and countless operations. With all those experiences I have to say that my family always got me through the recovery, and each and every injury made me more cautious, but the real learning curve was something I had to adopt myself, I fully agree with all the points you've listed mate. I know just how hard it is being a parent and having such trauma happen to your child. In fact my mom still has nightmares from those times the hospital called to tell her I was hurt. especially when I was in critical condition during the fire injury. I believe as a parent you share that pain with your son/daughter, so I wish your family the best of luck for the future :).

Will let everyone else make the helmet comments. Love the story of meeting your future wife "the crazy chick" :). You are so close to be there permanent and the kids will grow into better adults because of living there, in my opinion. Peace.

When watering the small saplings try going gradually further away from the base to stimulate the roots to grow out farther and become less dependent on the hose water

I hate to say it but I must agree that helmets are a must. 💕 😙 Raise your children with unlimited love and pray with all your heart for the best! But never let up on the fear of God. Make them responsible for their own actions.
