Isn't that 4 second delay when ALT-TAB'ing out of Fullscreen Exclusive apps the DSC bug for NVIDIA cards? This is 1440p 360Hz so it does have to use DSC at least for DP 1.4a. It should not happen on HDMI 2.1 though, unless Gigabyte's implementation of HDMI 2.1 on this model is below the 40Gbps/48Gbps specification (not using the full 4 lanes) again like some older 2021/2022 displays.

I'm so close to pulling the trigger on this exact monitor. I'm craving the pixel response times of oled. However, I'm rocking an acer predator that was one of the first 1440p 144hz ips displays to exist. I bought it in 2015 when it came out. 9 years is a long time and I'm glad it's lasted this long. When I'm spending this kind of money I want something to last and I'm afraid an oled won't last this long just because of burn in.

I own this monitor, and I just wanna say that the onle downsides to this monitor that I can think of are the raised black levels when in a not light controlled environment, the vrr flicker, and the hdr on windows looks bad on this monitor but that's not the monitor's fault. The screen is also very easy to scratch, so, do not use paper towels or anything to wipe the screen. Use a microfiber cloth.
@playstationRLZ2 ай бұрын
@paaged thanks for the reply. I'm only rocking a 3070 at the moment (doing an entire new build when ryzen 9000 and rtx 5000 comes out) so vrr is important for me on AAA story games. Is this common on all oleds? I never even heard of vrr flicker
@paaged2 ай бұрын
@@playstationRLZ Yes, vrr flicker has been a problem for nearly all oleds. I don't know the science behind why, but it flickers pretty bad on greys when using g-sync (but not freesync premium pro which is built into the monitor from what I've noticed), though, the monitor isn't rated g-sync compatible. Since I don't own any consoles, I couldn't make a comment about whether the vrr has flicker there. Also, the motion clarity may be great on oleds with high refresh rates, but they don't have blacklight strobing (obviously lol) which is fine for high refresh rate gaming, but when it's 60hz, you can see the ghosting pretty bad. It looks like the cursor is blurred when moving, as if your eyes were out of focus looking at the cursor.

@@playstationRLZ Alright. If you like oled, you'll love this monitor. I recommend checking the rtings color settings and what not on it if you like color accuracy. If you prefer srgb, the srgb is incredibly accurate. It might be in the 24inch mode when you first set it up and boot up your pc, and will be at 60hz so it will look kinda bad at first but after you set it to the regular 2k resolution and 360hz, it'll be great. Also, this monitor can recieve firmware updates via connecting the provjded usb-b cable to your pc and downloading the firmware update from the gigabyte website. Currently, there is no option to disable dsc, but to the last of my knowledge, they plan to add that very soon and more customizability to srgb and hdr profiles.

can u test against a 240hz CRT at low res? you would need 640x480 or 800x600 to do the higher refresh, but it would be interesting to see how it compares against these new OLEDs. ppl still use these dinosaurs :)

Whys the 240hz clearer in the UFO test. You can see the gaps between the white blocks, whereas the 360 looks like a solid white line. I think you mixed the images.

naw, think that's from the random draw of cycling, the text is part of the same image and looks sharper on the 360

Manufacturers, please DO put a matte coating on it! Glossy is rough for a computer monitors, especially for a QD-OLED lacking polarizer. Glossy is much better idea for TV's. Either way, it would be good to have a choice.

Hi, I can get the LG C3 for approximately $800, while the C4 is $1,500. Is the C3 good enough, or should I wait until the C4 becomes reasonably priced? Additionally, I’m considering the 57-inch Samsung you reviewed, which I'd buy if it drops to $1,600. Although it’s not OLED and has a matte screen, do you think the colors are still good enough to enjoy at this price? I’ve only used 27-inch IPS panels before and have heard that VA panels might have inferior color quality. Is that true? Would I be disappointed with samsung 57 inch when it comes to colour? Thank you Display Guy! Your reviews are the most enjoyable I watch regarding Displays!

@redg2197 Thank you for your response! I'm considering using the monitor for both entertainment and extensive work purposes. Given its lower pixels per inch (PPI), do you find reading text on this monitor challenging? Many reviews suggest that OLED screens can make reading difficult. Based on your experience, would you still recommend it for tasks that involve a significant amount of reading and programming? I'm a little worried because of burn in as well, do you still think it would be better than the 57" mini led? Is the picture quality worse than an ips monitor on the va panel from samsungs 57" ? Thanks again !
