I have opened 1.3ah (no bms) and 4ah & 6ah Bosch 36v batteries and the 4 & 6 had individual cell wires to the board at the top which implies at least cell-level monitoring so a bms of sorts. The smallest Bosch barries just monitor temperature.

Hi, Could you share the application you used to decode the 18650 battery?
@christopherbedwell7593 ай бұрын
I need 2 complete battery clusters but don’t have the spot welding gear - do you sell the battery packs in that configuration ( i Can do the soldering and replacing into the case myself and save shipping 2 dead batteries )

Very nice job and upgrade. I'm a little disappointed you didn't clean up the housing

I know to avoid these in future then. Or be very careful with re/building

very very impressed thank you - watched the whole thing though I worked out I'll not be giving it a go myself very early on.

Amazing, could you put the place where you bought the batteries and the other stuff, please? Thanks

I see you have made some very good mods to the welding tool can you tell us how you did them
@frankhenryhansen2381 Жыл бұрын
Done the same, but charger will not charge the battery with the new capacity. Any idea. A hint to others. Check the size of the new batteries. If they are a fraction bigger in diameter the battery pack will not go into the box. Had to omit the red spacers
@frankhenryhansen2381 Жыл бұрын
Fixed it. Cleaned the contacts of the charger

Sony VTC6 were a great choice I was just telling you to use some silicone spray, good thinking.
@EVCustoms3 жыл бұрын
Hello John.. Surely silicone spray would be a better choice.. but unfortunately my silicon spray was empty, so i worked with what i had... ;)

Which spotwelder should be used? Which power rating? Can you suggest a certain type / brand?

Kweld is a good choice.

What material strip used in video to spotweld together? Nickel coated steel or pure nickel?

Pure nickel... also coated is ok.

They sometimes put the bms circuitry in the charger

Yes this is true... but here didn't axis even balance wires for each battery... how charger read each battery and decide when must stop charging..?

I have a green garden 36v battery that I left out in the sun. Oops! It won’t charge (red temp light) but has 30.4v on a multi meter. Any idea what could be the problem?
@Seawalker112 жыл бұрын
old comment I know but in case anyone has the same problem - Charger thinks its faulty but it is probably just too flat for the charger. I jump started mine from another battery for a few seconds and charger then charged it fine

Do you think the cells really was from 2000? Maybe it is not right.
@EVCustoms3 жыл бұрын
Maybe... but i am sure that my customer have them at least 10 years + tool shop + factory = about 11-12 years...
@norbithehun2 жыл бұрын
It can be, but the battery he checked is different. INR18650-25R is not 13P. Maybe the date code is different as well. Anyway, thanks for the video and please let me know where can I buy original VTC6 cells. Unfortunately it is really hard to find not fake Sony batteries in China or even in Hungary.
@eibdoktor Жыл бұрын
Its not imaginable that a battery pack as of 2009 contains batteries of 2000!

Great video. But not a task for a DIYer. No one is going to invest in a spot welding machine for one battery
@KhurshidKarimi3 жыл бұрын
I think an average house has at least 5 battery packs. Some a lot more. Considering the high cost of these batteries, a diy ability will pay good dividends. As far as home appliances are concerned, Li batteries will dominate another 10 years easily, if not for technical reasons, then surely for its light weight versus capacity.
@topgazza3 жыл бұрын
@@KhurshidKarimi I agree. I have several. If the spot welder was a lot cheaper I’d buy one and refurb my batteries that are showing signs of failing like my cordless 36v lawnmower one
