Not to sound so advertised but honestly after you emailed me back about me letting my ex know to stop toying with me and if he wanted anything serious to contact me. He seriously messaged me back to meet me up within two weeks. This was back in Jan and now since April we have gotten engaged. And we plan to wed in fall! We were basically married but without the contract, and she was the one i was going to marry anyway as soon as or financial situation was steady. I was going to have kids with her and be with her forever. I wanted that and I thought she wanted it too. I have had heartbreaks before and they were hard but this has hit me the hardest ever as well. I lost my job due to the corona bullshit and I have been unemployed for a week and I have bills coming up and I don't have the will to do anything. I keep saying, "I'll do it tomorrow when I feel better" but I never feel better. I have not talked to my ex since the NC so idk if she has been with somebody else but I don't want to know. I always think of the worst though and it destroys me internally so much. This has been so traumatic that I developed a fucking tic. My body spasms whenever I think about her, so this happens throughout the day maybe like 80 to 90 times a day. I've had it for a few weeks now. What gets me through at certain points is realizing that she doesn't have the ability to keep me for me to become a better version of myself. You can upgrade yourself and your life in soooooo many different ways and she can't impede you from doing that. If you become an AMAZING version of yourself, life will have no choice than to give you a new love. Somebody is going to notice you someday. I know this sounds hard to believe and I find it hard to believe at times as well but it only makes sense. If you upgrade the fuck out of yourself, any woman out there would be lucky to have you. I'm 6 months into the breakup and I still cry every day. I actually just finished crying right now, I feel like such a loser. But I weighed 300 pounds at the time of the breakup and I have lost 43 pounds since then. The gym has been the only thing that temporarily relieves the pain so I have been there as much as I could. Please use this pain as fuel, dude. We are in no shape to become romantically involved with anybody anyway because our heart is in shreds, so the best we can do is use this time to upgrade ourselves while our broken heart repairs itself. Suffer to succeed. To conquer you must suffer. Pain is not the enemy.

I know most of these comments telling us to keep no contact and saying it'll be better in time is looking like nonsense to you now, but trust me it really will be alright. I've had a breakup last year and I was basically gone for 6 months at least, I couldn't sleep regularly, woke up crying, didn't want to wake up, didn't eat regularly and I didn't enjoy anything I did, everything reminded me of her, literally even a song on the radio that had nothing to do with her. No contact works either way, because you get to move on, don't think of it as suppressing your emotions, you are only controlling them. I didn't even delete any of the text messages I had with her until one day I woke up and felt ready for it. I'm very cursed when it comes to remembering dates such as birthdays etc. I can't forget them easily, but last week was her birthday and I just remembered it now, even had to check my calendar from a year ago to see if I was right. You won't realize its working until one day you get this sudden realization that life goes on and you already moved on. I got cheated by her, didn't know until after we broke up and I found out from a common friend we had later on, and I was devastated. I spent 6 months waking up, forcing myself to work, getting through the day just to come home and have 15 mins to cry and hours to think of life. Our wounds heal eventually, and although this sounds impossible now, I can't tell you how different it feels coming here after a year and watching the same video with an understanding way different than the one I had. I realized I moved on for sure today, saw her on a cafe I liked a lot the other day and felt a bit nostalgic, but it was just a memory to me, it didn't reach me cause I didn't allow it to. It's not a one size fits all scenario. It depends on a lot of factors. Whether or not they actually loved you or considered you just a friend is one factor. Everyone is different. Some are stubborn or have too much pride to reach out. How pissed they are as well.

Trust me, trust the coaches, you DO NOT want your ex coming back because of your logic, or manipulation, or guilt tripping them or coming back to nothing has changed( And yes they will be able to tell) or ANY OTHER REASON other than that it WAS THEIR IDEA. We are brought up to believe that telling the truth is the right thing to do so when we split with someone we automatically want to reach out and tell that person what we feel in order to keep them. So when we are told to go no contact it’s a scary thing to contemplate. In my experience it’s the best way to either get them back or get over them and move on. Take this time to concentrate on your goals but do not allow yourself to make your ex a goal. Focus your energy on yourself, your family, your friends and your career. If she or he wants you then they’ll come looking.... But if they don’t... trust me you won’t even notice because you’ll of found a new love.... YOU ❤️

Me and my ex broke up almost one year ago. I live in Europe and he lives in Japan. We have been in no contact for 8 months now but he never reached out. Before this i had been friends with my ex this whole time, only not talking to him. Except for a period of maybe 3 weeks (after I had already not spoken to him in a month and a half prior) where I had talked to him, though infrequently and not every day but I had slipped up and told him I missed him. I always dropped it after I had said things but I still questioned him. Hi Rory, me and my ex broke up about 3.5 months ago. At the start he said he'd always be there to talk. We communicated for about 1.5 months then i broke off contact abruptly because i was sick of being stuck in no man's land. I've since done 2 rounds of 30 day NC.They were both broken by my ex contacting me towards the end, asking me how i am/ if i am ok. Lately he said he'd found out that i had x problem (through social media and by asking a mutual friend), and said he would always be there to talk if i wanted to. Yet he hasn't explicitly said he wants to get back (which i believe is the case for now). Due to this, I've been keeping my replies to him brief and civil. What should I do? I know he cares enough for me to reach out time and again, but he stops short of reconciling and it bothers me alot. However, having to suppress my need to communicate with him (despite his overtures) is wearing me down. Why are there still hardly any comments here of no contact actually resulting in getting an ex back or even them contacting? Shouldn't the focus be shifted entirely to saying "no contact is the way to get over it. Odds are highly against getting back together or even being contacted again"? Something like... Hi Rory, thank you for another video! It’s been 3 mos no contact & he hasn’t reached out at all & I think he’s dating, or messing around with the woman that had a crush on him the whole time we were together & he lied to me about. His self-esteem is very low & he has great difficulty going into a deeper love to beyond the honeymoon phase. We were together a year & a half. I wonder if he was in lust with me or love with me. He says he loved me & we were crazy about each other but I wonder if it was just surface deep the whole time & I was fooled. I still believe in our potential and love him wholeheartedly. It seems you already know the answers to your questions. You mentioned he has low self esteem and has difficulty getting past the honeymoon phase of a relationship. Some people just don't have the skills to enter a long term deep committed relationship. He needs to work on himself before he could ever get back together with you. It doesn't mean he wasn't in love with you, but his fears and insecurities prevented him from going further. I know it's extremely sad but it's the harsh reality. Don't wait around. You deserve better.
