37175 - first start-up after overhaul - 30th December 2010

Following almost two years of hard work at Bo'ness, 37175 starts up for the first time with a fully overhauled power unit on Thursday 30th December 2010.
As is the case with starts of this type, and not helped by the ambient temperature, it was extremely smoky at first, but after a good half hour or so of running settled down.
A few tweaks here & there, setting up the AVR and thoroughly checking the power unit followed before the loco was shut down and brought back into the shed for refitting of the roof, stacks and readying it for the Scottish Class 37 Golden Jubilee on 2nd January 2011.
