You're so close now, and you do what you have to do to line up the body kit and make things fit. Nobody will see any of it from the outside. And you're learning all kinds of useful skills like repairing electronics. That car is going to be so awesome for you when done and you'll know it inside and out. I have jury rigged parts I didn't have by making what I did have work once I knew what the part was trying to do and modify mine to work. I made a shift linkage work on my Dart for the 4bbl upgrade by just throwing a small bolt in the slotted bar to make it think it was shorter like the one I needed. Worked for many years till I finally found the right part. Keep living your dream. 👍

In my 25 years of auto mechanics white smoke 95% of the time is combustion gas getting into your cooling system meaning head gasket starting to fail. Bluish/white smoke is oil. I'd do a test on the cooling system to check for combustion gas and do a compression test. It will run fine until it blows but alot of white smoke to little white smoke back to alot is usually always coolant...

Check out your CCV valve. The smoke can be caused by too much oil feeding back into the intake due to a bad diaphragm (among other things in that assembly). It's intended to return vapors back into the intake, but it can let oil in, if faulty. You can test it pretty easily. Take vice grips and clamp them on the large, soft hose that goes from the CVV to the top of the head, disappearing underneath the intake manifold, blocking off the flow. If you start the car while that's clamped off and the smoke is immediately gone, you'll know the issue is part of the CCV assembly. DM me if you need pictures and I can show you on my MP4-12C.
