I visited a aftermarket parts manufacturer in China back in 2014 and I was thorough impressed. Their volume is huge and I was surprised they used German machines to produce their mold. It’s no wonder their quality is quite impressive in terms of fitment. Only down side from buying from China honestly is the long logistics and if something is broken when it arrives don’t bother shipping it back because it will cost you and arm and a leg

When you've been in autobody a while it's really not a hard repair. Simple heat, reshape and cool. But generally if it's a new bumper you would just send it back, cause it's inefficient to fix stuff that shouldn't need fixing.

A person completely restores a McNugget and a lambo to “museum quality” but then receives a box of bits and pieces for his ultra lux DD from “CHINA” ( adding drama) then does a “pre unboxing” to accidentally bury the bumper under all the parts. Wtf let’s just hope he has invested in other opportunities. Doesn’t take much to find jabs on other channels. What goes up must come down.. unfortunately

For a quick mockup or the rims just pick up some gold vinyl wrap and wrap part the rime or the whole rim to check if that is indeed the color you want the wheels to be.

You are 100% correct on changing the wheel color! Chrome(or gold) would be perfect, and black is ugly! Also adding chrome to the body would add to the overall class of the car. Also, you are so right, when you find a car you love (no matter the year it was made) keep it and treasure it!

If you ever order bumpers on Amazon, they always seem to come in a box that's about a foot too small. They bend over the bumper at the corner and you have to mount it to the car and use a heat gun to get it back into the correct shape.

Hi Tav, I can’t wait to see the new improvements to this beautiful car in new paint. I’d go with chrome personally. Not a huge chrome fan but it fits well on this car. My dad has an s550 black with everything chrome and got the s65 chrome rims on his and they fit well

Thanks 2 the people who sell a solder version of plastic welders which I have one as well works fantastic for fixing cracks, missing plastic pieces, and in your case reinforcement on plastic parts/pieces. Depending how much practice you have can make it twice as strong as it was originally. Same concept as fixing fiberglass only adding more plastic and sometimes adding anything from paper clips, staples, and other items from behind it to reinforce the area. 😉

Check blind spot sensors brackets in the rear bumper. Compare to the original bumper, mounting location and angle. You may have to swap brackets.

If the $5K spent on parts included the Xenon head- and LED taillights I wonder what their quality will be compared to OEM. After-market plastic bumpers (as long as they fit) should be fine but those AM lights I have seen here in Thailand fitted to Japanese cars fade terribly.

The Chinese domestic modding scene is getting pretty big and their rep forged wheels and body kits are actually really good value. If you can be fluent in Chinese and have rmb available you can a nice set of forged reps for around 2k and a nice body kit for around 3-4k

What Jack said: "all in a very specific order" applies to literally everything about these german cars. Assembling after paint is almost always 2-steps forward one step back unless you've finally become familiar with them.
