Bananas, if not used by the time they turn brown...take off peel, and wrap with clear wrap OR mash...put in ziplock...throw those bad boys into the freezer...take out as needed for smoothies or banana bread/muffins etc!!
@Karoline_g2 ай бұрын
Or don’t bother to peel - just throw them whole into the freezer. When you want to use them later, defrost in a bowl of warm water, then cut off the end and just squeeze out the insides like a tube of toothpaste. Perfect for things like banana bread with very little work. Great shortcut for those of us who have budget our energy at least as closely as our wallets.

Have you ever made a glazed ham loaf? Ham salad? Both so good! I also make fried rice with small pieces of ham, and breakfast casseroles…Hot ham & Cheese on a hamburger bun spread with mayo. Ham is such a great buy when you can get it on sale. When my mother was out of smoked sausage, she would make her red beans using a ham bone or smoked ham hock, then serve it over cooked white rice along side a slice of cornbread. We always had Tabasco, jalapeño peppers( or bottled LA peppers) and either green onions or sliced Visalia onions.
