хотя они уже и тут вполне достойны бронзы, и кто знает кто бы ее получил, если бы этот чемпионат мира не проходил в Канаде)) НО, глядя на общую картину, может и хорошо, что им тогда эта бронза не досталась - ведь канадская пара чуток расслабилась и решила ждать очереди на медали а они реально становились лучше и лучше (да и морально видимо тоже сильнее становились, что им потом в 2001 очень пригодилось)

The free dances in 1996 were all very forgettable. In terms of program construction though, this free dance was perhaps the most well balanced out of all the couples. They definitely should've been on the podium, probably in 3rd or 2nd. ETA - Actually, I probably would've had them in second behind G&P. My placements for them were fourth in the CDs, 2nd in the OD, and 1st in the FD. G&P, as brilliant as they are, had a free dance that year that was one long WTF moment.

Lol) I just love the description of G/P's FD "long WTF moment ")). I guess had they not taken the creation of 1997 season' FD upon themselves, we would have seen another long WTF FD).

@@MsRumex BTW, I'm curious to rewatch some of the compulsories from this competition. From my memory, I had A&P fourth in both compulsories dances. But memory can be so extremely faulty. I have not seen A&P's silver samba dance from this competition in ages. And I have yet to see K&O's tango romantica. If my memory is indeed off and A&P should've been in 2nd or 3rd in the compulsories, perhaps they should have indeed been the winners of Worlds that year. However, even if that was indeed the case, that was never going to happen since G&P were the reigning Olympic and World champions whereas A&P were still a newer team trying to climb up the ranks. It's not right of course but it's the way skating was judged at the time.
