Great idea! My project already has drywall but unfinished back, so it's even easier. I'm going to use those adjustable boxes, the depth can be adjusted with a screw. Never used them before, but that might work for thick walls if you change your mind or something.

You can also put chalk on the outlet box or some paint put the board against it and it will mark your spots.

I’ve been trying to figure out how to mark the back side of osb with paint with no luck but I’m gonna give the caulk idea a try. Thanks for this input. Heard cheap red lipstick works as well but I’ll try the caulk first

If you have trouble breaking wall plates, consider switching to indestructible ones made of a less fragile plastic or just switch to stainless steel. That’s what I use in my shop

Amazon. The ones i used were made to rivet to things. I know some of these magnets are used on trackers that are on the containers from rail cars. They are then pulled by tractor-trailers. I hope this helps 🙂

I have a weight bench right beside that wall plug. In the past the bar from preacher curls have busted the plate when it would hit it. I left it in the wall to prevent this. I didn't show it in the video, but I made that wall panel easily removeable to service the plug if needed.

@@3BricksHigher, Yeah . I don’t see the big deal . Haha ! I’m a female finish carpenter and I spit dust out of my mouth all the time . Beats swallowing sawdust 😝. I’m sure I look like a barbaric heathen to some . But at least I ain’t swallowing sawdust or whatever. Spit ain’t the end of the world on the ground or a dirty shop floor. As a matter of fact , the sawdust absorbs it and it gets swept up at some point 🤣🤣
