These movies are about the big three. And 4 having a stand out like Kirby makes it better than the other sequels alone in my opinion.

The only thing I want in scream 6 is good chase scenes. We need to bring chase scenes back. Not just a kill, not like scream 4 opening but like scream 2 gale chase scene or Sarah Michelle ghellar chase scene in I know what you did last summer. Lol I don't know why but the 90s slasher chase scenes I miss.

Ikr we didn’t really have any in this movie which is sad since this franchise is also known to have good chase sequences like scream 2 had a lot like the one u mentioned, when Sidney and ghostface first met, and Ghostface chasing Gale. Plus it has one of the most tense moments that we don’t get anymore either specifically talking about when they are in the car thinking ghostface is knocked out and they have to get out that scene is full on tension which is something we haven’t gotten like the original had one too when Sidney was in Dewey’s cop car and ghostface had the keys that is the best one but scream 3 on onward didn’t really have many after that so I hope they include those in scream 6

I had the same thought after my viewing, this one didn’t really have a great chase sequence. Trying my best not to spoil… The scene in hospital, maybe? That was the closest thing I think.

I have Mickey as third. He broke Sid the most. She became a recluse after Scream 2 and was still wearing Derek's frat necklace in Scream 3. I would put Billy over Stu because Billy was clearly the mastermind but your reasoning is solid.

Mickey is overlooked ALL the time! As you said he was the only real one to mentally fuck with Sydney's head and it's never appreciated enough. He made her a recluse in Scream 3. I also have him number 3. Love his psycho speech every time I hear it. He nails the facial expressions. 🤣

I really liked scream 5: 5cream. I think that it felt so much like the first one but it also felt like it wasn’t just a copy and paste. I enjoyed both of the killer reveals, especially when amber just out of no where shot Liv. I think I liked amber more than Richie because I really enjoyed the energy she brought after she was revealed. I especially liked when she ran to the front porch and just kind of gave up acting and shot Gale. Richie was okay but he kind of felt like it came out of no where and it didn’t feel like his character but I guess that’s the point. I didn’t like that they didn’t spend a lot of time with the teens though, i wish they had spent a little more time so I cared more when they died. I loved Mindy and Chad in their scenes and I liked Wes enough. I didn’t really care for Liv and amber until the reveal. Sam felt a little bland and I didn’t really like what they did with billy but it’s over all forgivable. I really enjoyed Jenna Ortega as Tara in this movie and I’m excited to see her in this franchise going forward. Overall an 8/10 movie, would definitely recommend.

I absolutely love the DELETED opening kills of Jenny AND Marnie compared to the theatrical scenes. The idea of one being murdered in front of the other and her not believing it due to the constant “Cry Wolf” scenarios. Just perfect. I watch it then hop back into the movie just to pretend that’s the legit opening.

The newest scream paid special attention to Stu being forgotten that I honestly expected him to be one of the killers. I felt that attention and the whole time I'm telling my wife "he has to be involved. There might be 3 killers and he'll be the final reveal" just over and over. I mean, Tara gets a question wrong and it involves Stu, the ending takes place at Stu's old house, and Stu's nephew was apart of the killers' plan. The way ghostface kills in this movie felt like Stu not holding anything back and felt more personal than 2 people who are killing because they didnt like a movie.

Yeah after many watches of Scream 4, the opening scene is honestly pretty weak imo. Marnie was killed off camera and thrown through the glass door and with just 1 stab and a trip down a flight of stairs. Kills were a bit too quick and bland for me.

Matthew Lillard played Stu to perfection, and I actually remember being surprised by his reveal in the first movie because I don’t think I was expecting a second killer. And when Sidney goes from relieved that he’s there to sheer terror after realizing he’s in on it was so brilliant in the reveal. However, Billy will always be my favorite killer. He plays the perfect sociopath, and the corn syrup line is probably my favorite of the franchise. Billy was fairly obvious throughout the first movie, and yet there was still so much drama in his reveal. You are right that if any of the sequels ever manage to top the original, they should all quit. But that will never happen because the original Scream cannot be touched.

How they could have brought Stu back: They could have cleverly written this story from the ground up to where we as an audience didn't realize till the very end that we were in fact watching a direct sequel to the original, and not a 5th installment, just like Halloween 2018, and that in this timeline Stu was locked up but escaped like Michael Myers in 2018. This movie was ALL TALK about subverting expectations with new tropes. The most prevalent plot device in horror today is alternate timelines, where it ignores the sequels and is a direct continuation from the original. It sounds crazy but the story could have been cleverly crafted to make us believe we were watching a 5th sequel only to have the bomb dropped at the end that it's a direct sequel. That would have been bold and badass in my opinion. You also could still have all those Stab films exist in this universe but only the 1st one was based off of real events. You could even get meta by a character not familiar with Woodsboro, asking " Didn't Sydney have multiple run ins with Ghostface?" And someone answers, " No, that was just the Stab films fictionalizing Sydneys life" All of this fan fiction pisses Stu off to where he escapes and finally make his sequel. "Cuz these days you gotta have a sequel!" 🤣

I feel scream 4 gets so much meh and yet it's so good. It was so exciting seeing the characters grown up after the 10 year period and seeing where they were all at. And the motive was so good and clever i thought. And I just loved the mask reveal right infront of sidney. They are the best! I think the orders you have chosen are spot on 👌 I very much agree. My problem with the Scream franchise is that they haven’t had two killers who had on-screen chemistry since the first Scream movie. Most of the killers barely even interact until the reveal, which is a major “cop-out” for me.

That's one of the BIG reasons the original is the best for me. Stu and Billy are not just in the movie, they are 2 of the main players. By the time they are revealed there's not much explanation needed, unlike the ghostfaces in the sequels.

Honestly, a very good ranking. I agree 100%. I rewatched scream 4 before watching Scream 2022 and I was shocked at how much I enjoyed it on rewatch. Hadn't seen it since I saw it in theaters and it's actually very good. I think Jill gets a bad rap for being the final reveal when it was crazy ahead of its time and an interesting change to formula.

I can see Sam developing a split personality, essentially actually bringing Billy back from the dead. We saw at the end of the movie why she’s capable of… but also the fact that her hallucinations seem to know information that she herself doesn’t know… which is scary. It would also give Sidney a chance to fight Billy again. Or Billy and Stu eventually I actually loved Amber, I agree with her placing in the list. She just seemed so unhinged, she’s appreciated more upon second viewing in my opinion… and I agree with Jills placement, and the acting was so much fun

See that's good storytelling but they messed it up by keeping some new characters alive making so many connected to past characters and killing off dewey...I legit don't care anymore after 5...they should of pulled that twist in this film before speculation begins..now that's expected so you have to subvert it cause stu and a fill in for billy teaming up even if it's a twist cause she was good in this film feels expected and boring ...they could of kept the fact she's related to billy a secret if they want to make another film with her and make her the heel...unless she is revealed to be a killer in 5 there's no point to mention she's related to billy...they blew their load

Scream - untouched because of it´s originality, chracters, impact in the genre and the great ending. 2 Scream 4 - Best twist/reveal since the original. Best characters and overall story of the sequels. Most entertaining and goriest of the franchise 3 Scream 2022 - Nice story-concept and good use of suspense and tension. Kills make an impact for once! The twist/reveal and third act in general was weak 4 Scream 2 - Very good for a rushed sequel. Did not care for the characters. Twist / reveal was a mixed bag 5. Scream 3 - Tone of the movie is totaly out of control. The twist/ending is meh. There are far to many things in the plot that are absolutly absurd and outlandish (voicechanger,"Sidney´s halfbother making it big in Hollywood and gets to direct a Stab sequel)

For me Richie was definitely one of the best ghostfaces there were so many parallels they did with Stu, e.g. saying I'll be right back to the film buff Meek of their respective films and then later being revealed as one of the killers. Richie also was just full of one-liners and the first ghostface I believe Sidney has shot without knowing they're ghostface... and the fact Sidney still thought he would save her! Iconic!

Billy loomis was by far my favorite ghostface. Best opening for me is probably the alternate opening to Scream 4, and my ranking list is (from best to least best) Scream (1996), scream (2022) and scream 4 are tied (for now), scream 2, then scream 3 (i love them all, tho). Scream is my favorite franchise of all-time, and i love every movie in it’s own way

Scream - 9.5 Scream 2 - 8.5 Scream 5 - 8.0 (May be the best opening scene since the first, but Scream 2's opening was great. Liked all of the new characters, and the killers.) Scream 3 - 7.5 (Roman had the best motive, but unbelievable that he was the only killer. Didn't like the voice changer, kind of unbelievable at that time.) Scream 4 - 6.5 (Hated the filter. Didn't care for Jill, Trevor, Charlie, or Robbie.)

How they could have brought Stu back: They could have cleverly written this story from the ground up to where we as an audience didn't realize till the very end that we were in fact watching a direct sequel to the original, and not a 5th installment, just like Halloween 2018, and that in this timeline Stu was locked up but escaped like Michael Myers in 2018. This movie was ALL TALK about subverting expectations with new tropes. The most prevalent plot device in horror today is alternate timelines, where it ignores the sequels and is a direct continuation from the original. It sounds crazy but the story could have been cleverly crafted to make us believe we were watching a 5th sequel only to have the bomb dropped at the end that it's a direct sequel. That would have been bold and badass in my opinion. You also could still have all those Stab films exist in this universe but only the 1st one was based off of real events. You could even get meta by a character not familiar with Woodsboro, asking " Didn't Sydney have multiple run ins with Ghostface?" And someone answers, " No, that was just the Stab films fictionalizing Sydneys life" All of this fan fiction pisses Stu off to where he escapes and finally make his sequel. "Cuz these days you gotta have a sequel!" 🤣

Richie’s acting reminded me of Rainn Wilson in House of 1,000 Corpses for some odd reason. In retrospect, I think he was too obvious in the reveal. Also I’ll have to watch it again, but there was one part right before the Ghostface reveal where there’s no way either of them could have removed the costume in time from their last attack and then pretend to be innocent. My suspension of disbelief started to creep in

See, I disagree. I didn't think Ritchie was that obvious. He was the fumbling comic relief who seemingly had little to no motive and wasn't there for the first attack. He had no connection to Amber that we knew of as well. I went into the movie without watching any trailers and keeping away from online speculation which is why it may have shocked me so much but I thought his reveal was good. I don't remember any part where I was confused as to how someone got into the ghostface suit that fast but I may have honestly just missed that

I really love scream 3, it's still my favorite, even if people usually rate it the worst. I think it was not as comedic as you say, it felt much darker than the previous ones. The fact that it is the only movie that did something different with having only one killer that really noone saw coming as sydney's brother, makes it more unique. Also it's refreshing to see an opening sequence with a male victim for a change (scream 2 had that guy in the bathroom, but the main victim was Jada Pinkett). Scream 4 and 5 final acts were just a copy of the first movie, they keep recycling that scene, two killers at a house party at night, one really close to the protagonist and the other a crazy psychopath. At least S4 had a cool twist and motivation, plus a extra final act at the hospital.

@@nitinnegi4986 As a kid i loved it and even today watching a marathon, scream 3 its still the most entretaining of the bunch, IMO of course. I liked the characters, the plot, the opening scene, the twist, final act. Can't say that for every movie. Scream 1 - It's the original, ok! But it's not that entretaining, the opening scene is iconic, but there aren't many memorable kills, Dewey was a joke, Gale was annoying, Billy was so unlikeable, i knew he was the killer from the moment he entered the scene. Scream 2 - Nothing wrong with it it's my second favorite. Scream 4 - Terrible opening, hated the new characters, every single one was so unlikeable, had a great twist and final act tho. Scream 5 - Recycled opening scene, recycled final act and twist, didn't care much for their motivation, i get it but the trailer led to believe it was something more shocking. I know it's not a popular opinion, but it's my own.

Yeah I am starting to believe more than ever Stu killed Tatum. With how he moved on being all over the other girls at the party. Randy saying he thought Stu did it. Since I would love to see what Stu said to Randy when he bumped into him outside. To make him think he went “mad.” As well as the killer going back in the house after. Why would Billy go back in the house, leave and go to the front door ? His nod to Stu probably just meant he hung the Principals body up at the school.

I agree with you on "Scream 4" and do not understand at all why anyone would hate on it. "Scream 3" was just goofy as heck, "Scream 5" felt like fans writing fan fiction, but the ones written by Kevin Williamson really knocked it out of the park. My order in reverse order (#5-1) is 3, 5, 2, 4, 1 so almost the same as you. I love certain scenes from 2 -- Gale's chase scene, Sidney in the cop car, the opening not taking place over the phone, Cici's chase scene, etc.
