I think this movie gave us the full story of both Art and Sienna. Art: he was a serial killer who got those kids and buried them in the old house where he has his headquarters. He was possessed by the demon because he’s a corrupt and evil soul. If the demon is alive, Art is immortal. Sienna: She was chosen by the Angels to be the one who takes down Art. When Sienna’s dad drew the picture of the Armored Angel, he saw visions of the future his daughter would go through (which is why he struggled to give it to her). This explains why he was drawing the victims from the first movie and Art himself. This is a perfect mirror to one another. One chosen by demons, one chosen by angels. (Little side note, the vision Sienna saw of that demon making the sword and armor was probably Art himself due to the demon having the same teeth as him. Idk I think that’s a cool twist having Art be the creator of Sienna’s armor and weapon) Also, with the demon dead, the stakes are gonna be HIGH for Terrifier 4. Art can ACTUALLY die and he’s on his own

Hey Chris. When we learn that Art caught the attention of a demon, I think we actually witness when that happened, at the end of terrifier 1 when art came back to life after shooting himself in the head. The lights flickered and acted all weird and supernatural, before art came back to life. I believe that's when the demon noticed art, I think Art was human in most of the first film. And only became supernatural at the end of that movie and so on.

And when Victoria spoke she said she’s gonna make sure sienna ends up just like I did this girl, hinting that Victoria is no longer present. Either art became a demon at the end of the first one, or he’s more of a parasite and is turning people into him. Somewhat reminded me of nightmare on elm 2.

I know you’re iffy on Art being made into a henchmen, but remember in The 9th Circle, he was basically just that kidnapping victims for Satan. My friend made a good point about the scene where Vicky using the glass and art kills the construction guy. She said it reminded her of the crucifix scene from the exorcist. Seeing as how much Damian Leone loves making references to other horror movies, especially in 3, I’m assuming it’s primarily meant to be an homage. Not sure if there’s any deeper meaning to it other than it showing the depravity of the demon possessing Vicky. The only thing I can think of is it paralleling her experience of birthing Arts head.

Correction about the quick killings of men vs the long killings of women. Sierra's mom died extremely quickly in Terrifier 2. As someone who watched the first two films and found them pretty meh beyond the gore, I was genuinely shocked at how well the film balances everything. Leone really out did his previous works. The acting is better, the comedy is consistent, cinematography is excellent, the pacing is great, and the movie actually has an emotional core. Once we got to the second hour, where the story kicked in, I was engaged and wanted to see what lore elements go. The lore elements aren’t as goofy or over the top as they were in Terrifier 2. Making the big showdown, at the end, feel like an endurance test for our main character and felt like it had stakes. The biggest compliment I can give it, is that this film feels way more rewatchable over the others. Due to the emotional core and better directing this time around. I highly recommend this one, and think it deserves the praise the other films have gotten. This to me is the perfect balance of everything the last two have been building up.

I love art’s eyes in these movies.. In terrifier 1, they’re black but they feel really full of life, there’s a shine in there. In terrifier 2, they’re a hazel colour, but there’s less of a shine. He looks alive and feels alive inside, more than he was in terrifier 1 But in terrifier 3, his eyes are fully black, no shine no shimmer, he looks dead inside

Here’s a far fetched theory, but hear me out! Based on his seemingly legitimate initial reactions to the motherly care from the doll woman in the first one, the child like fun he was having patty caking and holding his bag open for candy in the second one, and his excitement seeing Santa and pushing the women out the way to meet him in this one, I think he yearned for connection in his childhood and didn’t get it. This is what made him a mime, then eventually, a serial killer, then eventually, a vessel for a demonic entity. I think (and hope) they’ll go fully into his origin in the final one. It would be awesome to have some kind of backstory from human childhood to damn near antichrist.

The head on the Christmas tree is the teenager’s (roommate) head not the uncle’s, as well as the body pinned against the wall in the kitchen. Additionally, I believe the head they showed Sierra is the teenager’s girlfriend not her brother’s.

Once you become a parent and see kids killed it hits more to your heart. Fkn really got to me because my 3 yr old is named gabby. Also, I took other ppls advice and remembered as watching kills think about how it’s just prosthetics and fake gore. I also watched how they made bedroom scene and it really helped me get through the gore so I didn’t get sick.

I saw this last night, and absolutely loved it. The humour was spot on, the kills were excellent, and Soenna is such a great final girl. I wasnt super keen on the character of Gabbie, inthink probably because i felt that Jonathon - a chatacter i really liked - was sidelined in favour of her character. Im really hoping that the fact that Jonathon was killed offscreen (and "his" head is skinned so you cant tell who it is) means hes not dead and will return for part 4.

ngl Jonathan getting "killed" was the part that made me dislike the film, if it's revealed that he's still alive then that'd be cool but it just felt really unnecessary

Really enjoyed the movie but I don’t feel any kill was as sadistic as the bedroom scene at all. It’s like all in all the kills were leveled up, but this one didn’t have THAT one scene imo. No kill was drawn out, poor Allie still holds the crown for the getting the worst from Art. No kill had that type of depravity

I’ve always had a weird history with these films. My morbid curiosity is to the point where it is enough for me to watch reviews and some clips of the film, but I really could never see myself ever watching one of these movies all the way through. I’m totally not opposed to the film existing or people enjoying it, but to me Terrifier crosses that line where I feel like the only real feeling you get out of these movies is just pure disgust and shock. It’s to the point where even after watching just a single clip that I just feel so dirty and rotten on the inside like some darkness got implanted into me. It’s not the greatest feeling ever and I get it’s not real but it really comes close to it. My question is where do people find enjoyment in watching the suffering of the victims in these films? I’m directing this towards gore fans who watch these purely for the practical effects. I get there is a crowd who appreciates these sort of effects but there is a very thin line that’s easy to cross into where it’s almost like a snuff film. Obviously I’m biased towards this as I am a Catholic so I may have skewed outlook on this, but I’m really interested to see what people say about this. I get there’s also the story elements but let’s be honest, 99% of the reason people watch these films is purely for the gore. Idk the only reason I could see myself watching these in the future is to prepare me to become a nurse as I feel like there’s no better training for that than these films 😂

I agree with Art needing a back story. All my favorite horror characters share some sort of background, with myself sharing your favorite "Freddy Kruger." Giving the character a back story ties to their personality and reasoning to their overall existence. It also gives us fans closure when it is time to end the franchise that completes the mystery, thus not leaving us dissatisfied that there's a hole in the storyline line we will always question. Huge fan of all Art the Clown franchise including "All Hallows Eve" Great commentary ♡

Kinda Fun Fact: The rat kill near the end almost got David Howard Thornton to crack. In an interview he said that was one of the very few things that legitimately got to him and made him feel sick and uncomfortable.
