It’s really saddening because there’s a lot of adults with children who aren’t as aware of AI and informed so they are able to fall for these scams and this one went beyond with heavily exciting an audience of children and parents going out of their time and effort to put money into this only to be disappointed and it just feels so shitty. On one hand, I can blame the parents for being dumb. The photos on the site show no actual images or promising real photos. No faces to hold reputations. As most conventions place names, contacts, or business photos online to prove the company and support behind it. The photos do not even look like real AI as we have seen. This is just a bunch of lazy parents paying to go to a clear scam of a convention; created by only a handful of people. If they did a little research or properly did their homework. The 40$ + would still be in their accounts 😂.

This reminds me of a smaller scale scam I heard about over here in the UK. Some guys were selling bootleg Willy Wonka bars to corner shops cause they didn’t do background checks or anything, a grandma brought one for her grandson whilst he was visiting and inside was a golden ticket to visit the Nestle factory. Thankfully the Grandma got curious and looked it over more thoroughly later so she saw the telltale signs of it being a scam, but still it’s kinda weird they’d build a scam around people driving all the way to the nestle factory for a non-existent tour

I stay in Scotland not far from Glasgow, and I read about this. It's ridiculous people that have "businesses" do this by starting one grabbing all money with no tax for the 1st year scam all staff and everyone involved with no consequences or repercussions. This person will do that again and again and the government doesn't give a shit! I know a few people that have done this, and they get away with it all every time by renaming a business, and I have been ripped off in multiple hospitality roles due to this kind of thing.
