While nobody knows what can happen, everyone caps Sonic 3 at 500-600M 'because the first films only made 300-400M'. That makes sense, except it doesn't take into account the abnormal circumstances the movies played under, so it's nice to see a channel (well, besides me because I'm nobody) actually speculate how much more they SHOULD have made. S1 only played for 5 weeks domestic, and theaters were already shutting down in week 5 (barely any money was made that week, and maybe they started in week 4 as well.) It made that 320M in just 5 weeks. I have no idea how well it could have done (I know plenty of people were NOT convinced by the redesign alone to go see it) but you say it could have done 350-400M? What about S2's 405M run then? I would love to know what your guess on that would be. It outgrossed the first movie in just 3 weeks, yet didn't even make another 100M on a full run? It's a clear anomaly, because S2 was just as liked as the first if not even more so. Could it be because Covid fear was still around (yes, Spider-man did awesome because it skews young adults who weren't afraid but family movies did poorly in 2022- S2 still ranked 2/3 place domestic/global, far below Minions but roughly tied with Puss In Boots) and S2 had massive competition from all the delayed films opening soon after, many of which were big hits. What could IT have made with lesser competition (oh how lucky Mario had it one year later...) It should have done 500M easy if not 600M. Assuming S3 can further improve, how high could it go? Mufasa is a big obstacle... if people actually like it and want to see it again. Moana 2 might still be doing some big damage as well. But otherwise it's got only half the competition S2 faced going forward into The Dump Months. I can only speculate, but it would not be a surprise at all if S3 does MUCH better than S2. A billion is certainly a long shot and I would not take those odds, but possible if the right stars align. But then again, it wouldn't be a surprise if Mufasa is another Billion beast that crimps S3.

I am going to make a prediction, the new superman is going to to bring back the "truth, justice and the American way" Then if Gunn want to really push it he'll have superman punch some klan members. Just like the 1946 radio play. That's how you get people talking about a trailer. But I don't think Gunns going for that 40/50s superman, more the all-star superman of 2003, so it's a long shot.

Shadow spinoff needs to be after sonic 3 he goes missing because he fell back to earth after keeping his promise, and a disgruntled gun commander sets out on a search for him. So imagine a but load of like high tech gun agents hunting shadow in a john wick esc movie. Rouge could be an agent they use at one point, and ultimately the bad guy could be Metal Sonic created by gun, powered by quills from sonic AND knuckles, and then they get a quill from shadow too. It'd make since to have this universes metal sonic created by gun as a safe guard againts sonic just in case. So yeah thats my pitch for it 🤷
