Lol it still takes me days to make a simple object. I know the workflow and tools but I always go back and redo parts because im never satisfied. I should probably set a timer and deadline.

@@jamarch3982 I uploaded 25+ free videos covering Maya tools in detail, hotkeys I use, and shared my general workflow tips. Understanding Topology series is also free and covers the core techniques used in any timelapse. Timelapse videos show the workflow, and show all said rules in practice. They can be slowed down for realtime footage as I recorded them all in higher framerate. If you go one by one, step by step., you can learn a ton just by repetition. Timelapse videos are not monetized, and have no ads. I have no monetary gain from uploading timelapses like you mentioned in other comments. Cheers!

Man, the topology is clean af! I like how you're cleaning up the topology as you model and also the really good edge flow. I'm now planning to enroll into your masterclass because of that. I've used Blender before, and when you work with booleans there, it's always a nightmare to clean up the topology. Cheers mate! I'll be putting that masterclass on my wishlist :)

It's the Cut tool. Just used differently. Click OFF the model, then click again on the other end. You'll have a line. Then you can adjust the points or MMB to adjust the position of the line.

Are you going to optimize it later, or will you just leave all those unused polygons and 5/6-sided faces? Great looking if shaded, but it will not be left like this for in-game engine.
@Elementza3 жыл бұрын
This is not for the game engine. Mesh would look a lot different if it was. Also, I mentioned above that this was a 2-hour project just for fun.
@MrGlebanPro3 жыл бұрын
@@Elementza Just to clarify. My comment wasnt a "dislike"-type comment. That was just a question :)
@Elementza3 жыл бұрын
@@MrGlebanPro All polys serves some purpose. Either to hold the curvature, hold details or prevent texture stretching. If there is room to remove some, sure. 5/6 sides polys I usually resolve on the spot, but sometimes leave triangles if there is no surface impact or I do not plan to run edges in that direction. Hope this answers it.
