My only 'complaint' (irony quotes) is that the OPR ratmen minis just... don't feel as verminous and evil as the skaven. (Which fits their fluff in OPR's settings - they AREN'T evil.) Heck, I could see them as the heroes in a game of Mouseguard. Great video.

They absolutely have a different style- Using them for Mouseguard is a great idea! The infantry are very whimsical- the war machines are a bit more "evil" looking.

Its sweet irony that the ultimate form of CGI, digitally conceived physical manifestations, can be painted and utilized in scenes that revive memories of some of my favorite old movies with beautiful practical effects and lighting. I still say your bean footage would be amazing with a Tangerine Dream soundtrack.

"Roll that beautiful bean footage" was the deciding factor to subscribe.

thanks for making this video. I was looking for skavens proxy, because I'm not fan of the original sculpt. I was wondering where I could find them and I watched this video.

Love OPR ratmen, as everyone else says they are more clean cut but I still love them. Great video really enjoyed thanks!

The One Page Rules Skaven proxies are indeed nice. More dignified than canon Skaven. Much more akin to Mouse Guard or Redwall in tone. As if these rat men could be Not Evil, though you can (as here) grunge them up something fierce to keep the grimdark aesthetic. But if I had to start a Skaven force with proxies, I'd probably go with Resin Warfare's "Ravenous Hordes" line. A fair bit more directly Skaven, although with a number of cool variants. Their Rat Ogres, for example, come in Vanilla, Frankenstein (Moulder), Plague Monk (Pestilens), clockwork (Skryre; they look like smaller ratmen piloting mini mechs), and even _Demon_ (heck, there's a whole set of rat-demons that could double as Khorne Daemon troops, if you want flavorful allies).

Man I was a huge fan of the Redwall series growing up- I think that may be why I am drawn to these models so much. I will def take a look at the Resin Warfare minis!

I need to start using the oil washes. You mention adding highlights after the oil wash, but we only see you highlight the warpstone on the base, which did not seem to get the oil wash. Are you able to highlight the washed areas after it is thoroughly dry?
@legendarytabletop9 ай бұрын
Yes- just leave the oil paint overnight so it can set and then after that you can highlight all you want- sometimes varnish can speed up the process as well in between to seal the oil

Audio on mobile is too cluttered at the start to make it out. Vo doesnt break through enough. Exciting cinematics though!
