It's now when you start to realize the exclusivity of cars like these, the Titanium One:1 Exhaust alone was heat treated by hand. It's so beautiful to watch the car come together over time.

This is how you should run a company. Design, create, and implement new technology patents, then sell them to your competitors to create your income. Then reinvest that income back into another product that lets your design and innovate and create new technology.

I am not sweedish in any way, but I am now driving an amazing Volvo! And I always loved Volvos and Saabs, though they are very, very rare in my country (espesially Saabs - they are extinct animals here!). So, I am very sad that Saab has gone and Volvo sold to chinese company (which is not that bad if you understand how global market works and as long as they don't tell Volvo engeniers and managers what to do). Ok, what I wanted to say with all this... I am very, very proud of Koenigsegg! And I am gladly share your joy and proud of being sweedish, If I can say so? :)
@AJtheSwede
@AJtheSwede 10 жыл бұрын
write2chrome Yes you can :) and I am Glad that you are happy with your Volvo and you can feel really safe in those "tanks" :-P. And speaking of Saab. Where I live in Sweden Saab's are everywhere (older models) since teenagers buy them because they are quite cheap and have a good amount of Horsepower with Turbo :-P But to be true I prefer German Cars since they have more of an Aggressive look and that German quality, My Favorite car brand is Audi :-D got to love those 4 circles :-P If I could get any car I want it would be an Audi R8 v.10 or Koenigsegg One:1 :-)
@ilya.b
@ilya.b 10 жыл бұрын
Alex J Oh, I love german cars myself and I always did. :) I had a Seat before my Volvo and I loved it in every way. I also looked into Audi A4, VW Golf and also I searched for a good Volvo because I had something in my heart since my childhood for them. I don't know how to explain, but I value safety in cars very much and even with todays cars (like Audi or any VAG car, really) being really good in this (thanks to EuroNCAP) Volvos are still the best in safety, no doubt about it. But the problem is that I also like to drive cars, I like powerful, technical cars, with a proper manual gearbox, etc. So, I was looking for Volvo S40 II with 2.4 170 hp engine with manual gearbox which is like a unicorn in my country (Ukraine that is). :( I found just one, all way to the other part of the country (more than a 1000 km away :( ), in wrong color (very dark red), with grey interior and wooden trim.. Ugh! So, I started looking at S60's. Never liked them as much as S40 II - that's the car for me, I simply love the design inside and outside! And S60's seemed to me a bit dull and boring.. Until I stumbled upon one car... S60R. First one I saw was 2008, had more equipment, with automatic gearbox (which is bad, but ok, I could agree to that already, because the car was amazing in all other respects!), had less mileage and huge pricetag, way out of my league! The second one I stumbled upon nearly 6 months later was older, pre-facelift, had less equipment (but all I needed really and even more!), more miles and really, really low price, which was suspicious. But I gambled and now I am a happy owner of a really, really amazing car! And you should understand, that there are only several of them in the country, like maybe only 10! And they are not sold that ofthen, you have to really be either lucky or really really chasing them and even contacting owners asking to sell you thiers - they are that rare in Ukraine! I think I was very lucky and I was asked several times already to sell mine. :) (Not gonna happen, obviously!)) I am now want to restore it to perfect technical condition (it has it's flaws, but it's repairable) and keep it for a 3-5 years, maybe more as this is an incredible family car, very comfortable, safe and yet it's capable, powerful, fast and drives like an absolute bullet train! So, this is my story. :) That's why I am so proud of mr. Koenigsegg and so sad of Saab. Cheers!
@AJtheSwede
@AJtheSwede 10 жыл бұрын
Interesting story :D. And how sad that they are so rare :O. I mean here volvos are like everywhere xD. And I myself is stuck between choosing either. An newer Audi A6 (2.4 liters V6) Audi A4 (2.0 tfsi) Golf GTI (2.0 tfsi) or and Volvo S40 or V50 T5 :D. Love those little speedy volvos. But they are a bit to small for me (I'm tall, long legs). And I love my old Audi A6 from 1998 :) but since we salt like a lot here in the winter (idiots -.-)...... it has started to rust quite bad. And it has 25.000+ miles. And it squeaks in every part everywhere :(. So that's why I want to find an new one. :). I hope that your volvo will keep you happy and safe. And that you have an wonderful life. Cheers man :D I also hope that the tension between Ukraine and Russia will settle without a war :(. I'm holding my thumbs :)

My name is Sylvester C Franklin Jr, I am a self taught atomotive designer. I have tried to get in with automotive companies to not get in.. So I decided to work on starting my own car company designing and building Hyper Cars. One of the methods I looked into is using 3D scanning and printing. I took CAD and Solidworks with focus in Rapid Prototyping. So far what I am running into is the price for scanners being so high. If I could get my hands on a scanner the things I will build. I will not give up I will succeed.

Scanners like that, the cheap ones are absolutely horrible. I'd suggest simply modelling and printing, the scanning part isn't THAT important, there are ways to work around it, although they take slightly longer, they're tons cheaper.

Syl look at 3DP-Platform WorkBench#400 printer. With the work bed area of 59" x 39" x 27&3/4" who needs a scanner. Without getting wordy here i would use www.swissinvis.com "Lamello Invis" (invisable attachable/detachable connectors) 12mm. size(250kg. pulling power) to connect shorter printings with finger/sandwich joinery to achieve one longer finished part(say a quarter panel) that is then given the carbon fiber vac bagging process. Eventually it will occur to you that just selling these epoxy compatable smaller sections( later to be joined into that longer quarter panel) gives customers the choise of their own selection of fabrics/epoxy's. Just by forward or reverse of a battery pistol drill with Lamello's Invis gizmo allows them to assemble/disassemble in 5 seconds. How is your surface geometry in SolidWorks. Figure out depth and line up of the connector halves in each printed sections u want to join. Look at www.compositeenvisions.com for shorts of any cutting edge fabrics used in high end auto/areo/sports. I have zip for operating capital, but have mucho research in this. Another good find www.burtonprecision.com for printers and scanners(many many kinds)

Using the techniques they’ve learned from their super cars, they could easily make very high-quality sports cars rapidly enough to make the same level of profit with greater reach to consumers who are probably 100 fold more aware of Koenigsegg than just a year ago.

This guy is unreal, I seem to have understood everything he's ever said, in this whole series of videos. How often does that happen? Outstanding, thanks Drive and Mr Koenigsegg.

No disrespect to Chris Harris but I'm sure koenigseggs test driver just like everything else is the absolute best of the best there has ever been and hes probably 22 and created his own driving style cause that's what I expect mr koenigsegg to want his cars to be put through

I love Christian and his straightforward, but excellent, explanations. Didn't understand how 3D printing worked until now.

Absolutely Fabulous. A hyper car company CEO taking the time to explain the innovative technologies that enable the production of these leading machines in easily understandable terms, with relevance outside of just his company. Christian making some of the best performing, best looking cars on the planet right now, explaining how they work, then Chris Harris comes and thrashes, showing us how they work. Gz on successful automotive channel //Drive

I used to work for one of two companies that made the raw materials for the plastic 3D printer technology. I'm sure since I've left there are more companies getting on board this technology. I see it more and more.

This 3D printing is revolutionary technology! Just think to have this thing in your garage. something is broken on a car. no worry you just call the car company they send you a 3d model file of the broken part on to you computer and you print the part you self!

rufturbo997 Yep some items are so hard to come by, i guess the motorcompany have to go for this otherwise smaller comanys gonna take over and 3d print parts for a lower cost than buying a new in the future. Btw the lawsuits and copyright battles in 10-15 years gonna be crazy if the printers are getting cheaper.

Could listen to Christian talk about this stuff all day. I've dreamed of being a car designer since I was a kid, never could afford to go to a good design school though. Really interesting to see all the work that goes into producing a top of the line hypercar. Also, having done 3d modeling, it can be really frustrating never getting to really see the end product. Must be awesome to be a designer at Koenigsegg and be able to hit "print".
