In Mexico, sargassum seaweed season is generally between May and October each year. If you travel to Cancun outside of that time period you can generally expect to avoid large mats of seaweed on the beaches.

I took my wife for Valentine’s Day. It was the most beautiful weather I’ve ever experienced! It got down in the 50’s a night or 2 and the workers at the resort wore heavy winter coats like we do in Indiana in January. Stayed at the Hard Rock. It was nice but probably will never stay at another one. It was kinda like not being in Mexico not like the other places we’ve stayed.

So the grand always has sargassum? Are the pools super cold at the moon palace? Were going in Feb and were trying to pick between sunrise and sunpalace

Yes the grand always has sargassum. Something with where it’s located. I don’t recall the pools being super cold there except when we went on Nov when it was raining lol. So sunrise is not adults only. But sun palace is. Are you looking for adults only? If the beach is important to you go to Sun Palace. If you are going more than 7 nights you can use our membership. They will bus you down to Beach Palace for free for the day which is in the hotel zone and that area has nice beaches. It may only be free for people at the Grand. I def suggest upgrading to the Grand. Worth all of the perks and great restaurants Sometimes a lot of waves but beautiful water. Also take the ferry to either Isla Mujeres or Cozumel for the day too. On Cozumel they have a Palace too but no beach there. Watch the video we just did on the excursion to Cozumel. Long day but amazing!!

If I'm carrying on won't I be severely limited on how much sunscreen I can carry on?

I don’t think so. I always bring 4-5 small little spray cans and a face tube. But even if you buy it at the resort it costs less than having to check in a bag and less hassle. Look what happened with all of those cancellations. Some people didn’t get their bags back for a week!!

@@3Days3Noches yeah losing the bag is definitely something to consider. Last time I went my resort was charging $20+ for a bottle of the spray and I ended up using almost two of them between myself and mom by the end of the trip. We were considering checking later this year when we go back just to be able to bring more sunscreen. TSA says you can only bring 3.4 ounces

Yes but you could bring multiple cans but it would probably add up $ wise the same! We spend $ on dumb stuff all year. Don’t check a bag, pack some sunscreen, buy some there who cares! Go have fun and live it up 🤗🤗🤗

Hi, we are heading to Playa Del Carmen end of August and and my hubby contacted Nacho Tours. Maybe the price has gone up but he quoted us $160USD round trip. Not super affordable but then again we’re not staying in Cancun so maybe that’s why? But we have seen better deals. Is there a way to get a better rate with Nacho Tours?
