I’m battling a shoulder niggle at the moment too so the comments on this were really interesting. For me I’ve focused on keeping the arms tight to the body. So chin ups instead of wide grip pull ups. Rows with narrow grip and elbows close to the body. Presses with elbows close to the body not flared etc. But I’ve been thinking heavy DB press isn’t working for me at the moment so was about to drop that for a while. Your comments in this video have sealed the deal on that for me. Ring push ups with elbows tucked close to the body will be the go. Great video as always. You are my favourite person to listen to. So much experience and wisdom. So much of what you say either resonates with me in terms of what I’ve done myself or prompts me to try things myself. While I’m not at your level or time in the sport I am the same age so I feel you are a real role model for me. That said I think any lifter of any age can learn so much from you. You are appreciated

Thanks for answering my Q about using plates instead of DB. I hate setting up my adjustable DBs too so yet more gold from you with this answer

Never apologise for not posting on a given week Jeff. Anything you give us is a massive bonus. I’ve never watched one of your videos and not taken something from it. Always gold. Just watching your training alone is worth it. For example in this one your comments in stability of the bar etc vs dumbbells for the shoulder niggle has made me think it’s time to swap out the dumbbell press. Thanks for answering my Q too (about using plates instead of dumbbells)🙏

Hay Jeff! Hope the progress is going well. I'd like to ask you what brand your set-up is...I like that it's very compact and looks as though it affords you great versatility in exercise variation. Thanks!

I really enjoyed this episode! And it was much needed! I was kind of getting down on myself about only losing 5 pounds in the last three or four weeks, but hearing the way you described it really put things in perspective, and it was definitely needed!

Hi Jeff. Interested in the last exercise in this video where the cable row was set up with a low pulley position so the cable angle was coming up from horizontal on the pull. Any reason for that? Just a different angle to mix things up. Or targeting the back slightly differently? Or just how the angles work out with your set up? I currently do a horizontal row (seal row), vertical pull (chin up) and a high pulley diagonal row in my week for back but haven’t ever used that low angle pull before. Might be an interesting variation to use some time

At what age do cutting phases end with a loose skin in lower abdomen? I’m 33 and would like to go on my first extended gain phase in years. Due to an aggravated injury that I first got in combat 12 years ago, the last 4 years have been more or less maintenance phases. I want to go on a good long gain phase but I’m scared if I go up too much in weight, my skin won’t return to normal. I know a guy at my gym who looks pretty lean but has a loose low abdomen. I don’t know if he’s just not lean enough or if it’s loose skin but he looks quite shredded in some areas.

Two things that helped my shoulder pain you may consider. 1. Hanging a few min most days. Works wonders over time. 2. Dumbbell close grip bench while pressing the dumbbells together over your chest. Takes pretty much all the shoulders out of the movement.
