Looks fantastic - hoping to get more into this hobby as I have inherited a nice garden railway. Always loved the USSX 1500's

That is AWESOME. I'd like a GMD GP38-2 among a few other train cars and engines.

Yep, very few dimensioned drawings online, books are where those will be found. For instance, there are SW1500 plan drawings, side, top, front and rear ends, printed at HO scale, with some dimensions listed, on page 53 of Kalmbach Publishing's 1980 book titled Model Railroader Cyclopedia Volume 2, Diesel Locomotives. Hundman Publishing, and Carstens Publishing, also probably had drawings in one or more of their publications in 1980s or 90s when the drawings were specifically made and copyrighted for that specific publication.

I am currently working on printing this project. Super excited to see the end result. I scaled it down to about 1:42 so it would fit on my print bed.

Very impressive model and detail on the print, too. I will be adding this to the list of things to print for the #3DP365Project and following along on your future projects. Excellent work Daniel, thanks for sharing this.

Thank you very much for this video. Getting back into modeling (1/35th scale) and looking into 3D printers and what they can/ can't do. Be kind of awesome to build some locomotives, rolling stock, passenger cars, etc. to put my military stuff on/in.

Dec. 2, 2018---Thanks for the video....locomotive looks awesome. This is my 3rd (4th?) time watching it and now have your links saved. Don't own a 3D printer, but hope to get one some time next year or maybe have one printed for me locally. There's a place called The Garage where people donate their time & equipment so others can learn how to use them. Of course, donations are expected. And they have a 3D printer. Hoping I can download the files and learn how to 3D print there. Getting back into modeling, but going for 1/35th scale zombie/apocalypse dioramas. One of them I'd like to do is showing an abandoned caboose or boxcar on some siding with people trying to survive/watching out for zombies. Downloaded a lot of blueprints w/measurements and wasn't really looking forward to scratching building these item, but now.....

In your archive on thingiverse, there is a problem with images folder, there are some "null" files which get overwritten and some images are just cubes.

Hei Daniel! Awesome work as always! I've been following your projects for a year or so. I would like to build my own HO scale trains and I was wondering if you could design for the less skilled of us some track switches? I'm pretty sure it would help a lot of persons! Keep up the good work !

Beautiful design, great, inspiring project. A couple of questions, if you don't mind: I've seen some commercially offered, 3D printed locomotives in a similar scale which seem to have significant "print lines". How did you get your model to come out so nice with minimal print texture? How would one go about re- scaling your 1/32 design to another scale, such as 1/29 or 1/24. Thanks for sharing such a terrific design, I hope to build it as soon as our local maker space has their printer up and running.

Daniel what would you recommend for a starter/first 3D printer
@DanielNoree
@DanielNoree 7 жыл бұрын
That´s a tough one. It depends on what you are printing, what material, size etc. I think you should browse thru the 3dprinting groups at Facebook and G+ and see what people are saying. I think that the Falshforge finder is a nice machine as a starter. Or a Duplicator i3 if you are willing to tinker a bit.
@trainkid93
@trainkid93 6 жыл бұрын
A Printrbot would be a great first printer or a FolgerTech Prusa i3 2020. Make Magazine would have all that you'd ever need to know on selecting your first printer.
