Great videos mate , got the load cell mode , big difference for me . I am always to heavy on acceleration, do you think basic acceleration mod would help?

Just picked up a 3drap throttle and clutch unit for my incoming CSL Pedals. Perhaps when this video was made they only offered one part # but they are definitely different in that that the ramp profiles are different between the clutch and throttle inserts and they are labeled as such. One other change that looks like was implemented was they use a triangular key to attach the arm the to the flexible TPU rather than the star shape shown in the video below. Verdict is out for me if they make a difference yet as I'm still setting up my rig but figured I'd help clear up any misunderstandings about the actual product.

How do you find the clutch mod?
@Frikoo2 жыл бұрын
Hadn't the patience to wait on your review so I bought throttle mod and other things from 3DRap. The throttle mod "plate" is different from clutch plate and there is no dual action on that mod. It gives the throttle pedal a little bit of the much needed resistance. Before this mod I was using the clutch pedal as a throttle because the original throttle pedal is just too weak. Now they are pretty much the same. But overall these mods are just too expensive. They do make the pedals better but I spent 100€ on them and I do regret it a bit...
@KarlGosling2 жыл бұрын
Thats weird, both mine are identical and the website lists them as the same item too?! But yeah aside from the brake mods the rest are not great.

I'm kinda curious why the 3drap stuff cost so much if it's just 3d printed parts and elastomer material. Is it how it's being produced?
@ACasualRacer2 жыл бұрын
It's just a big markup, costs less than $1. I have a 3d printer myself...

Because Sim Racing is already a niche market, so doing a niche product for a niche market means you won't sell much. And there's a guy that spent a lot of time (and some money) prototyping and developing a product, and he would like to make a bit of money on his effort. That said, yes, it's all 3d printed. So you can grab a 3d printer (700€ for a decent one), some filament (50€/kg for decent stuff), learn 3d modelling, prototype a product, test, refine, retest, repeat until you are satisfied, and finally play your favourite racing simulator... Or you can just spend the few bucks asked to compensate someone doing all this for you. There is a difference between expensive and overpriced. I think that these mods are expensive but definitely not overpriced

It's not always cost of materials. 3d printing can take a ton of time, and that has to be factored into cost. Is my best guess

Nice review, fyi if you take the original elastomer from the stock brake and use it to replace a washer and elastomer on the load cell, it has a nice initial give, been tinkering so thought id share. Keep up the grand work.

Interested to know if the Brake Pro Kit would work as a mod for the original CSL Elite pedals that were discontinued. Or is the foam wedge a different shape.
@MRD0889 Жыл бұрын
Well, actually, that same foam pad that comes with the regular brake, which is the one that turns into a brake. That same foam, you remove it from that now clutch and remove an elastomer from the load cell and replace it with that foam piece, and now you have a load cell that will give you travel now for reference when you start adjusting your load cell. Also, lol, 1 1/2 Rc plane landing wheels. You get two of them.< Make sure they're the thicker ones that are more gray than black>. Once again, you remove an Elastomer from the stack and replace it with both of the RC planes 2 wheels. This mod helps sooo much and the first one is a freebie if you think about it.

If anyone is thinking of buying Fanatecs products please look at the forums before purchasing. While I am not disagree with you, I will share my recent experience buying from fenatec. Pre-ordered csl dd 8nm wheel, pedals etc 21st of April and received my stuff last week. So far all working has it should be so not had any chance to experience customer support but what I will tell you is if any company has a type of fourm available you will more than likely see people complaining about issues. People with issues complain, people that don't tend to not post so it seems that the issue with support gets much worse than it appears to actually be the truth. Not only that every at the moment is high in demand covid and Ukraine war hasn't helped either. Covid staffing issue, Ukraine hardware suppliers issues.
