3DS Max also has a feature called Motion Mixer that allows you to mix these animations and blend between them. That's the more professional way of mixing animations. Still, this gives you some good fundamentals.

For anyone having trouble applying the animations: 1- Save the mixamo animation WITHOUT the skin(mesh) 2- Select the whole target mesh with the bones and load the animation file(.xaf) If you get the "no track are mapped create map file" error is because the body parts of the mesh you're trying to apply the animation to doesn't have the same names as the saved one.

I do everything the same, but the animation in xaf format loads incorrectly. The character appears at other coordinates and moves, no less than his position

I've imported the 'Thriller Dance' parts and they each have starting points at zero location, so when combing these they reset to zero location at each part. How do i fix this?

Hi! I have 3ds Max 2020 After "load animation" it say "no tracks are mapped. Create map file?" and after click "Yes" it brings another dialog(Map animation) looks really difficult to undestand... What is wrong?
@СтепанЮрченко-н9ш5 жыл бұрын
also I try another method: just import animation from mixamo to 3ds max select all joints and save .xaf then clear all the keyframes so it just a original mixamo skeleton in the scene and try to load animation back Same result - "no tracks are mapped. Create map file?"

Степан Юрченко i solves the problem you need to select all of your animation joints (riggings bones) as well as the skin then load animation

@@СтепанЮрченко-н9ш Hi! i have the same problem, did you solve it ? thanks!
@cold_unАй бұрын
@@anassYassine-ll8zq As I remember, you can try this: (it only works, if the animation bone names are similar to your skeleton bone names) Say "Yes" to "Create Map" dialog. Then a new window "Map Animation" appear: - right click on "CURRENT" column - select all - then right click on "INCOMING" column - select all - then click "Exact name" or "Closest name" in "Motion Mapping Parameters" (It should match equal names of the bones) - "Save mapping" to file (if you want to load it later without extra matching) - And "Load motion" That should do the trick.

how can you make a single .fbx model with multiple animations? Mixamo website only lets you add 1 animation per FBX. Your method has them all stitched together into a single animation, but I'd like to have seperate actions

Thanks for the Tutorial. Any idea on how to import multiple characters from Fuse/Mixamo with different animations? I import first auto rigged character from Fuse with animation. Then when I import the 2nd character and it's animation into same scene it replaces the first character and animation, I tried renaming the files but I cannot import multiple characters with different animations. Any help would be great, thanks.

I'm with you on this. I'm currently in the same boat. Have you figured anything out about how to do this?
@wojciechselwa85655 жыл бұрын
Import first model and group all children under one parent object. Then import another model from Mixamo/Fuse and do the same. You can import as many models as you want with that trick and if there is a need to add animation for particular character, just select parent and add motion file, works for me!

I managed to do it; it turns out the default fbx import option was 'convert bones to dummy'. I chose 'leave them as bones' and it seems to have imported fine. 3ds max 2020.

Great help. The giant yellow circle around your mouse pointer is awful though. I suggest you don't use that. If people can't see your mouse they're probably too blind to be using a 3D program. :D
