18:41 I think everyone would've been less mad at Spongebob cos he would've given them their money back and more instead of running off like Mr Krabs did since he had been giving the money away earlier. Also someone in another video theorized that the reason the Pretty Patties messed everyone up was cos Krabs being the cheapskate he is, probably used regular paint instead of food coloring to save money and it bled out onto the customers. (It is awfully convenient that it goes wrong 'after' Krabs took over the business)

They never show any hint of it in the episode, but I believe Mr. Krabs screwed with the Pretty Patties that in turn provoked the refund mob. Why? Because as naive as Spongebob is, he takes extreme pride and effort in making good patties; I doubt he'd recklessly sell burgers with bad side effects. But Mr. Krabs would pursue anything for an extra dollar and, without thinking, messed with the recipes to cut costs (and corners) while charging the same price.
