It looks like the rental truck caught on fire and it spread to the structure above? Just asking cause it looks like the fire advanced pretty far inside buildings walls before firefighters arrived. I hope there were no injuries; it’s bad enough to lose your home.

It looks like these are older buildings here right. And considering the dangerously close proximity of surrounding buildings to the fire building it is no surprise that thos fire did so much damage. Are buildings like this watched by fire officials? And shouldn't there be some kind of building code concerning buildings being constructed so close together? It would seem to me that a decent distance would help mitigate a rapid spread to other structures. I don't claim to be any expert just observations from this and other videos like it.

Are the firefighters in this fire department afraid to work. They are all in the street talking among themselves but not many are fighting. Can you believe, no body on the 3 roofs. There is no leadership. All the officers and chiefs are sleeping on the job. 💤

You have to remember that it was 97 degrees with a real feel temp of 105. However, I agree that an aggressive firefight was lacking......

@@jamessimmonds3773 You are perfectly right, but when it's that hot and humide, you asked for more man power from town around. This kind of fire with this heat needs more than one hundred firefighters. And you send your man and woman to rehab every 15 - 20 minutes. For the roof, you install a rehab there. For me there is no excuse. The job as to be done so 3 teams working on every sector, each team worked 15 to 20 minutes, on rehab site for 15 to 20 minutes and go back to work for another shift. And drink a lot of water is the key. We are better off accepting it and preparing ourselves because according to experts we will have to live more and more often with waves of very strong heat. On that, I hope you understand my pore english and take care James.

You clearly know NOTHING about firefighting. I guarantee you these buildings have multiple false ceilings and void spaces in them, allowing unchecked fire spread, and you won't even know it until a chunk of ceiling falls on you. And if I'm not mistaken your boys got fucked up many times by fires not including Grenfell Tower. How many died in that fire because they listened to the LFB and stayed put? If you have no access to the burning material from the exterior, you have to break out the fire room windows from the exterior and then advance inside the structure to the fire rooms with a cone of cooling water that will push the heat and flammable smoke out those windows. Water from the exterior on the smoke and flames will not extinguish the fire inside. As you saw here. Fountain Statue, Water Squirting does not extinguish fires. Thinking about where the fire is and what is burning and applying water to it, does. "Stay the hell off the roofs of burning buildings!"

Yes, but there are two ways to beat the sneaky fire: one that works well and you have good result and one that doesn't. I would say that they had some problem. Now it's up to them to make a good post-mortem and learn from it.
