Coming from a Ford technician that works at a mustang restoration/modification shop you need to ve more consistent with your examples of the vehicles. Automatic and manual have very different characteristics and different times. Plain and simple. Ford automatics use quite a bit of power compared to the manual equivalent. Also, the 2005-09 mustang has a completely different head design and updated drivetrain even going from a 4 link to 3 link setup in the rear. Atleast find videos of all manual or all auto, there are many out there.

Why was the 2018 short shifting so much? Everyone I've been in including my personal one shifts at 7400. Alot left in it.
@ywe32 жыл бұрын
The power band vs torque band...the power band on the new mustang caps at 6200 the torque band is 5800 so 6000 is the proper shift point for maximal performance.

@southbayrickybobby58202 жыл бұрын
@@davidfoster7008 oh I know what you’re talking about. But my 5 speed with a 331 rear end plus supercharger keeps me in the power band just as well if not better without constantly having to shift. I hit 90 in 2nd, 130 in 3rd 170 in 4th and top speed of over 190 in 5th as the beast was still pulling at only about 5500 rpms with a red line of 6500 when I let off. Going for 200 as I upgraded my gauges to the Saleen gauges that reads 200mph instead of 140, 150 technically if you know how to actually read retro mustang gauges.

It sounded like a Ferrari on launch so they retuned the exhaust pipes to be more throaty...i.e. more American... The Coyote is to American performance as the 6.2L AMG was to europeans.
@southbayrickybobby58202 жыл бұрын
No it makes perfect sense. Ford has lost its meaning in recent years. Trying to compare itself to European brands with a lot of refinement that our traditional muscle cars don’t need. Just look at the Hellcat. Ford is just trying to snag bmw and Audi customers and snubbing us American loving customers off. I’ve always been a ford guy but I test drove a C7 corvette when they first came out and my brothers new scat pac and both are much better cars than my friends 13 5.0 and his 15 Roush stage 1. Since 2010 mustangs have been on a terrible downward spiral. Too us real Ford guys at least....
@tf2andtalk8972 жыл бұрын
Makes sense. Old American V8s would redline at 5100, while making max torque at 3600. The 6th gen Mustang revs all the way up to 7700 (9000 in the GT500). High revving motors is a European car characteristic.
