I’ve got a 2TR-FE in mine with rear drive, which has better longevity. Since it’s one of three vehicles I own it will probably last forever. I won’t drive it in salt.

I have the 2.7L in my 2023 SR. It’s a 4x4 and I use it in the winter though. I take it to Krown to have the underside treated every year. I hope to keep this truck for at least 20 years. It’s wonderful.

2:50 Thats funny to know about the fan clutch. Work at a shop and someone brought in a 2018 with about 400k and the fan clutch was also locked up at the same miles. Looks like they are good to 400k exactly lol

My 2000 Tacoma is at 147k and 2022 Tacoma is at 19k. Oil change every 5k for me. Looks like I'm keeping it until I kick the bucket.

cylinder #2 misfire could be a ignition coil. swap it with another cylinder and see if the code travels.

@@endurocox5467 I hear ya. Wasn’t sure if it was possibly something simple like a bad injector/coilpack. Or I’ve heard a few people have the ACIS Intake flap break off and it can bounce around the intake manifold and block an intake runner causing a cylinder misfire. But with that many miles a burnt up/worn valve makes more since. You’ve got a good plan send her till she blows and swap in a junkyard motor and keep clocking those miles!🤙🏻

if you drive it like a grandma around town, you will get like 16-17 mpg. if you get on it on the highway but still drive it like a grandma ( keep it under 75 mph) you can get 19-20 mpg. i knew that the manual tacomas get worse fuel economy but i dont care its so much fun to drive

It’s definitely down on power a bit. Compression in cylinder 1/2 is down 60 psi. 3/4 is down 30-40 psi. 5/6 are still in spec.
