@@chrissyfrancis8952 Your right on Chrissy. Pennsylvania is still a beautiful state with lots of unspoiled farm vista's. Here in Connecticut rampant un checked urban sprawl has but all ruined all this state. Hardly a view left where you don't see condos, housing , strip malls, big box, or hill tops being removed for more crap. It so sad.
@chrissyfrancis89522 жыл бұрын
@@masescranton9630 I lived in very rural areas, out in farmland, then up in the mountains in a log sided cabin. It was a dirt road to a dirt driveway. We had a 4 stalled barn surrounded by forest, had chickens, raised Goer goats for 4H & 2 miniature donkeys. We’d get snowed in & I loved it! You could see every star in the sky bc it was pitch black at night, couldn’t see the neighbors for all the trees. Then in 2014, we had to sell & move into town bc I have a health issue that changed our finances. It’s just a small town in a valley the Susquehanna River runs through it & I don’t like it. I could never live in a city. I’m so sorry to hear about Connecticut.

Unlikely. El Nino is putting his $*(@ down on us, polar vortex is in full swing and to top it all off, next year 2024 should've been solar max, but apparently the Sun never got that memo, and decided to say "yeah, screw you guys, i'm gonna start spitting early". There's droughts in areas where droughts almost never existed and monsoons where there weren't monsoons, which then cause their own issues. TLDR, skip to 2025 and maybe, maybe it's going to be a good year.

The drone shots were epic! Nick, that expression you’d had on your face while sitting in the combine with the hail falling, I know that feeling, it’s admiring the force of nature combined with the knowledge of what it’s doing to your crops. Had that expression a couple days ago as the big white combine made a pass with extreme wind and rain as well. He gives you no more than you can handle. You guys got this. Maybe a third combine someday to speed up harvest. The windows in the weather during harvest sure seem to be shortening.

Welker Farms established 1912 so hopefully your family has little to no debt load. Lots of farms were lost in the 1980’s when commodity prices were low. My parents divorced in 1981 and they sold the farm in March 1981. My mom has said that she thinks that they would have lost the farm in the 1980’s had they not sold it in 1981.
