You guys and your brides make such great examples for people, while you guys work the fields here are the wives working out of sight most of the time and still make time to bring lunch out for you. A great family business where everyone has a job to make all that has to be done as easy as possible.

May God Bless. Like all the video's, and thanks for the blessings. Here is a little story for Mr. Robert Welker and Kobe. On arriving at a Tractor Supply noticed a gentlemen placing a carpeted 2 x 10 from his suv tailgate down to pavement. Down comes a gray muzzled dog. I remarked to the man that at first I didn't know what he was doing with the board until I saw the dog. He said the dog used to jump up into and down from the vehicles he had owned, but now the dog enjoyed his slip resistant board for getting out and in. The dog was sitting on his haunches right by the man as he placed the board back in the suv. I commented that his dog was also very well behaved. He said his dog was being extra good because the Tractor Supply gave free doggie treats.

One of my uncles used to wax his tractor and his combine. He liked to take care of his machines. Some people thought Uncle Manley was crazy. He retired and he would give factory tours in Saskatoon. The company had a big factory in Saskatoon. They had a private jet that would fly people from the USA and they would return them home after a BBQ. The private Citation XLS did the job. The owner of the company sold out to your sponsor in 1997 or so. He was buried today. Family, Faith, Friends, and Employees were important to him. He loved helping people. You still use some of their equipment.

@@RobertWelkerFarmerBob The world is smaller than we realize. 😊 You were likely flown by Walt, who was married to my cousin. Walt flew for MAF for a number of years before going to fly the Citation Jet. They had some other planes that were used for shorter distances like Saskatoon to Frontier, SK. I enjoy you channel. Thank you for your farm videos. . . . We still have some relatives that farm.

That container that the food factor meal came in, gave me a good memory of my grandparents. My grandma didn't like to cook, because my grandpa could always cook better, while she could bake really good. Anyways, they first came out with those lean cuisine meals, and my grandma would eat one at night, but my grandpa hated them, and called it slim slime lol. My grandma made my grandpa promise to take her to lunch everyday, because he was always working on antique clocks, building stuff, or just buisy. He kept to the promise for many many year's, but was on his own at supper. The meals you are promoting look much better than any of those frozen meals, i am gonna go see what they have to offer. G-d bless y'all.

Not a lot of correlation between what the farmer receives for their crop, vs what you pay at the grocery store.

In US, can't see why the price of wheat has much to do with the price of bread. The $6 to $8 wheat will make 2,400 slices of bread.

Scott, I know you know this but we praise the Lord in all things and treat all things as a blessing... even a poor harvest. You live in a part of the country where you don't expect a big profit every year. The only way to work "risk management" is by insurance. It'd be interesting how that works but regardless, looking at your beautiful family, you are blessed!!

I’m just so sorry that this drought has gone on 3 years! So sad to put all the work into it time & again & poor crops. BUT, you did bring in some crop. Hopefully enough to fill your contracts. Yes, it’s bad, but it could be so much worse. Like the fire in Lahaina. That’s I how get through these things. That & a lot of dog therapy! Love ya Coby, you’re a good guard dog for those fields!

I was surprised when Legarms mentioned paraquat. Here in the UK it was banned mid '00s [I think]. I used it in the late '60s two or three days at a time without a mask on a tractor without a cab [I'm probably dead], and I'm still warm. 😄

Coby is a hoot! That is one rad dog! It as absolutely amazing to see him go to work. It will be easy to see when that pup slows down one day, which will be a sad day. However; my dog is almost 12 and he still acts like a pup when he sees a cat, possum or rat and just has to run after them. I thinks that type of stuff keeps them young.

My first "real" job at age 15 was driving a Ford 8n with a hay buck on the front, shuttling loose hay to the stack for the boss to put up. $7 a day plus room and board. The room wasn't much, but the board... to die for. Full on country breakfasts and suppers full of taters and beef, so good! Watching you share a meal in the field brought back good memories of lunchtimes together. Farm life for the win!

Congratulations on making it thru 2023. The last few years have certainly challenged the farm with skimpy harvests but you keep on working hard, doing it yourself, keeping the faith making do with older equipment vs the costs of brand new. The new spray rig was a lot but it’s is going to save so much chem cost and the fuel to apply it. You guys are not just hard working people you are also smart business people! The partnership with Case IH as the sponsor for YT and the time investment for that was also a smart move! Farmers like yourselves are what make America great! Enjoy any down time the next few weeks we’ll see you when it’s time to plant winter wheat and then peas. Here’s hoping you got all that Kosha knocked out!

Nice looking wheat berries. My dryland wheat made 8 bu average with large and small grain too short to harvest. We are chopping silage now. Neighbor is doing this but having trouble finding trucks. It takes 950 hp 9900i JD chopper and more than a few trucks with 34 tons for each acre. This is semi truck country. Will be combining corn in October and stripping cotton in November. In Texas we are farming most of the year! Strip tilling irrigating fertilizing planting spraying and harvest seems to go on forever ! Planning and paying the bills takes up the time between.

You know I did harvesting for almost 10 yrs. From 92 to 2000. My favorite crew iwas on was Jim Brubacher and Rusty Kriebel from Newton Kansas. I loved either driving truck or just riding around in the combines. Going to Dutton Montana in 95 will be memorable for me. Just seeing that super big open sky anc the endless fields brings back such good times in my youth. In 2001 I joined back up with the military. And alot of times we would be going on Annual training in July and I would see harvest crews making there way from Texas to Montana and every time I did I was thinking of Montana. I know the hours you put in Nick, Scott, Robert. And yes even kobe the dog. LOL. Saddens to sew those big reds shutting down. But I also know you guys put in the time and hours and you will do it again next yr.. God bless you guys. Get some rest. Get some vacation time. You will be back in the field soon planting. Would love to come up there for a visit. God bless Welkers. Oh Nick. Try not to get stuck planting will ya. Lol....
