Great tip, I have a similar set up and swapping from 4.10 to 3.27s right now. From my data logs it looked like I was running very rich when I’d floor it and that’s why the car would stutter, this just confirms that for me. Can’t wait to let her rip

Word of warning, you can not mix and match bearings and races between manufacturers. Each brand has its own angle, roller size and quantity. If you change the pinion bearing you’ll need to also change the race in the housing. Or listen as it Eats itself in short time. JD

I was going to mention something in the video you were putting the long studs and spacers in, but figured it wouldn’t do any good. The quality of the spacer makes a big difference as well, need to have a good hub centric spacer, so it pushes on the hub and not the studs, the tighter the fit to the center hub the better
@seastacker85824 жыл бұрын
Nice work. That set up will do much better with that gear set. That motor will load up nice and let the boost do what it does. I don’t know why I’ve always been spooked by read ends, but I have. I need to just bite the bullet and swap one out. Keep up the great content.

I would have set the lash to zero with new gears. The coating will wear off and it's about .009". So if you set it at .007" add .009" = .016" and it will make noise. Ask me how I know. FYI

It's not the fault of the stud. The problem is the hole in the spacer. This places the load like 3" away too much for any stud. This is life with incorrect offset or incorrect axle housing width.
@TrojanHorse19594 жыл бұрын
BREW2L, I need to tell you this and I'm not a "know-it-all" I just want you to be safe. It isn't going to matter what long studs you use with those spacers, they will all bend like that if you are launching or otherwise putting a lot of pressure on them because of the leverage the spacers allow to be placed farther out on the studs. Those long studs are meant to be used for drag racing to ensure you have enough threads in the lug nuts and they are used with open ended lug nuts. The rule is that the studs need to protrude through the nut at least the diameter of the stud for drag racing. Being able to fully thread a wheel lug nut on there gives a visual reference for you and the tech guys at the track to see that the nuts are fully engaged. For your purpose you will need the spacers that bolt to the hubs, then they have a set of short studs mounted in them to mount the wheels on. They will be much stronger and safer. Take care, be safe & healthy during these crazy times.

You’ll have some long gears... but it’ll run 170mph in 4th gear... I had my car with 2.73s up to 155mph and I think I was only around 4700rpm or so it’s been a while... it just depends on what you wanna do, if your drag racing you want your 1:1 gear to be close to the limiter as you cross the line...
