Or perhaps he was a good guy once who gained the trust of the king before he got corrupted by Ganon? And once he turned evil he used his privilege to set up the Calamity in secret. Zelda wouldn't have been able to recognize him since she was still too young when the fortune teller was in royal service. King Rhoam also never met Astor in Age of Calamity.

Just a cool Easter egg, if you equip the training sword on the Breach of Demise mission, Link uses a pot lid to deflect the guardian blast like it says in Daruks journal. I just thought it was cool.

There’s a parallel to when Link awakens his connection with the sword and when Zelda awakens her sealing power. Link reaches out to save Zelda, and in doing so, the sword reacts and his power and role as the knight is awakened Zelda reaches out to save Link, and in doing so, her power and her role as the princess is awakened.

It's so weird how there were references to Fi before Skyward Sword released. The stuff like Midna saying "the Sword excepted you as its Master" is reference to Fi, yet it came 5 years before Skyward Sword. The Zelda team does a lot to make the lore extremely fleshed out.

@Antony Alamilla The way the timeline is set up is honestly the only way it actually makes sense. The problem is that the 2D games are so detached from everything else. TIME TRAVEL DID NOT RUIN THE ZELDA TIMELINE. Time travel is the only part of the timeline split that actually makes sense.

You can practically do whatever you want and still find ways to make it fit together with a little work. Astor is an alternative spelling for Aster, and its derived from the greek word for star. The name as it is spelled in game means hawk - and hawks are associated with divination/foresight. Pretty cool if you ask me!

I believe the “orb” Astor uses is actually a part of the Malice-infused Terraco. When we see him in the room with Kohga and Sooga we see what looks to be a stationary Terraco and it’s bottom piece (the gear) looks to be missing. As confirmation you can see Terraco has this gear and sometimes when his body shifts you can see the inner orb.

What you see at 4:07 happens in Twilight Princess as well, the Master Sword Glows and it forces Zant's curse out of Wolf Link and allows him to return to his human form right before Link pulls it. Now keep in mind that in Skyward Sword you don't find Fi, Fi finds YOU. While we don't see it in Skyward Sword, it is heavily implied that there was a hero prior to Skyward Sword who aided the Goddess Hylia, or in otherwords someone who would have the Spirit of the Hero. I find it highly probable that Fi is able to recognize her master as those with the Spirit of the Hero, so in both Twilight Princess and Age Of Calamity it could be possible she was able to recognize her Master was in danger and decided to protect Link in both instances.

For the "nobody recognizes Astor" thing, he obviously changed his appearance post-duty. Why? Simple. Do you think Rhoam would hire a man like him? pale, adorned with a *malice eye* jewel on his forehead, otherwise a direct symbol for Calamity Ganon? Not to mention he wears robes bearing the Gerudo symbol which, though the Gerudo themselves are not enemies of Hyrule, the only voe to ever don a symbol like that was Ganondorf, King of Thieves, which I'm sure Rhoam and the rest of the Hyrule would remember, seeing as the world of Breath of the Wild takes place far after these games, as several locations are named after the Sages, Urbosa references Nabooru, etc.. Astor is confirmed to have come from a "certain village," so he likely was born as a normal Hylian. As Zeltic said, he was likely bewitched by Calamity Ganon at some point, and so lent his talents to the king as a normal Hylian with a normal name--a seer to lead Hyrule to ruin. It's quite obvious his weapon is Sheikah technology, but for all we know, it could have been a normal crystal ball before the Sheikah improved it. Being in such a high position, it would make sense for the royal family to instruct the Sheikah to assist him with his astrological research. Given the fact that it emits a blood-red glow (the color of malice) it's likely Calamity Ganon corrupted it the same as he did the Guardians and other technologies. Also, on the topic of Age of Calamity being "not canon," technically it is, but there's a catch. Terrako returning to the past and doing what he did, didn't change the reality of the original BotW, but created a split timeline, similar to the timelines in Dragon Ball Z/Super, and the hypothetical "The Hero Succeeds" and "The Hero Fails" Zelda timelines. In one timeline (BotW), the Champions and King are dead, but Link and Zelda triumph. Most likely Astor succeeded in his goal but ultimately was consumed by Calamity Ganon like in AoC, which explains why he doesn't exist. The alternate timeline (AoC), Terrako's return and bringing the champions with him altered fate by pushing the heroes in the right direction. The confusion lies in the four "new" Champions, but since each of them recognize Link and having worked alongside him, it can only mean they were pulled from the original BotW timeline sometime after Link beat Calamity Ganon the first time. Sidon, of course, is fully grown, while his younger self still exists in AoC, so it doesn't get much more obvious than that. Sorry this is so long! It was either make one long post or spam multiple small replies, but theories are just so fun to discuss!

I noticed that the Four Notes Terrako plays are the same like the first main notes from Nayru's Song from the Oracle Games. That would make in some ways sense since Nayru is not only known as the Goddess of Wisdom, but she is also known in her Mortal Form as the *Oracle of Ages* And Lanayru Dessert, named after Nayru, there are these Time Shift Stones which - when activated - create a Force Field around them where everything inside will be seen at the State they were 1000 years ago.

A few things on Astor. A, if the king did remember him, it was 11 years ago. Give the old of guy a break. B, the malice of Ganon could have changed his appearance. We saw Ganon destroyed his body, what’s saying he can’t edit one? And C, by the time the King saw Astor again in AOC, Hyrule castle was under control of Ganon. I doubt he would have given a second thought on the guy other than, “ There’s a dude trying to destroy my kingdom! BiG SwOrD Go CuT.” Love the video tho.

They're not going to be similar from what we've learnt of the two. AoC has a very happy ending, whereas BoTW 2 is meant to be dark. I think BoTW2 is going to go for power over scale in terms of enemies

There are things I would have liked to see in this game. Obviously Link's family being one of them. Kind of too bad they were never brought up. Also, despite all the time spent they did keep things pretty vague when it comes to Link and how he feels about others. I felt more confident about his feelings from the Breath of the Wild memories and various small touches in that game than I did through Age of Calamity. But I guess they wanted to keep the shipping open for this one.

I always wondered why King Doreaphan was so cool with his daughter wanting to marry a Hylian. It's not just because of that old myth in their histories, either. She's fairly selfless so maybe he was willing to indulge this whim and figure she could marry a Zora later in life, since she was still so young (seriously. She's not fully grown yet) in terms of a Zora lifetime. She'd outlive Link easily and still have time to produce a Zora heir before she grew too old. All the Gerudo women out there seeking husbands should be a pretty good hint that the kids are usually born one race or the other, instead of a finer blend of features. They would give birth to daughters that _might_ have a few of Dad's traits, in personality or eye color or something. Gerudo women now sport pointed ears and other eye colors besides yellow, when they didn't before; a sure sign of all that breeding with other races has had its results. It's too cute to imagine Mipha with a few normal Zora babies....that sport Link's blue eyes. XD

I think I’m both timelines link reciprocated, and the description in the Age of calamity timeline shows how link is embarrassed to wear it, since he knows of what it means. When he ponders if it is ok to wear, he is worrying if it is taboo if he and the zora Princess have a relationship. I actually think he was with her in the Botw timeline in secret and the same in AoC

@@antimony3964 Hello!! Ganon is coming back, the voices are almost ghostlike, and Nintendo has a habit of brink back the dead. I think it is likely to be a MAJOR plot point for the new game. I think Ganon will resurrect the champions and use them as puppets to defeat link, like the Hallows in Age of Calamity, but this time they are semi-conscious.

The divine beasts may hold more secrets, and since they hadn’t deactivated till the calamity left, I think the calamity took the body’s with them as they left. Also, we have seen totally decrepit bodies be 100% rejuvenated by magic and I think we are not done with the champions yet. @@antimony3964 another thing, the ancient shieka monks preserved their bodies for 10,000 years!!! Obviously they’d have something in the divine beasts in case things went south. After all, the shrine of resurrection was connected to the 5th divine beast. The monks were able to project their voices while being in a sort of stasis, like ghosts, and when awakened by the hero, monk maz kosha was able to stand and fight link. Time shift stones may also be used in this case

About Astor: If Astor really did tell the King to unearth the Divine Beasts, it's very likely that he changed his appearance before going to the King to tell the prophecy. As he looks right now, he looks very sketchy, as he has a dark outfit and his face just looks evil, so making himself look different before telling the King would be very reasonable.

So, My theory is that, the timeline where the corrupted terrako comes from is actually botw’s timeline. Since in that timeline events seem to have been the same as in Botw. AoC is a timeline where Astor who was serving as the fortune teller found the corrupted Terrako full of Malice(Ganon) and videos from the future, so instead of fucking shit from the castle Astor decides to go to the Yiga clan. Since he had “Ganon” with him Yiga clan joins forces with him. This aoc timeline is basically very slightly similar but different to the original, the reason Calamaty Ganon revives sooner is because of the Malice brought from Botw’s timeline and Astor manipulating it and spreading it. The Botw timeline is the timeline where shit real bad real fast, and Link and Zelda have to endure a lonely shit journey and battle. The Aoc Timeline is meant to have at least one Terrako good or bad, giving a hand. My point is, the 4 future”Champions” they come from the Botw timeline after meeting link, freeing the Db and beating Ganon, so we can rest knowing that they will for sure tell Link and Zelda when they go back, and so Botw’s Link and Zelda will now know that in another Timeline all four champions, the king, and everybody got to live a happy ending.... Really poetic if you think about it

I have an INSANE theory that likely won't happen but I've finally got to tell. One reason why I think they did a split timeline for Age of Calamity is because, there's a chance that Breath of the Wild 2 be an "end," and by end, I mean that Ganondorf will be finally and completely destroyed and thus ending the curse of Demise, with one critical sacrifice: Fi, the Master Sword, because the sword is destroyed to destroy Ganondorf. This could be why we're somewhat reminded of Fi in BoW because she may fully return in the sequel and play a major role which will lead to her sacrifice. So they created an alternate timeline as an excuse to continue the franchise while exploring what it would be like if the story would be brought to a definitive end in another timeline.

Just so you know, I discovered that on top of Ganon’s cocoon, it is using the same sheikah tech to restore Ganon’s energy as the shrine of resurrection is using the tech to restore link’s energy. Could there be another shrine of resurrection used to house Ganon?

I had been thinking about the fortune teller before Astor. Even if they weren't a spy looking to help Calamity Ganon, Hyrule still probably would have lost, since most of the guardians came from the ancient underground pillars that the researchers could never find.

I believe they left it even more ambiguous in Age of Calamity so fans can have Link end up with either Mipha or Zelda depending on their point of view. Edit: But considering his actions in both timelines and his adventure log from Breath of the Wild (the Japanese version), my bet is that Link falls in love with Zelda regardless of events, and it depends on either Zelda returns his affections. She does in Breath of the Wild, and there’s practically no opposition or rival to deal with, so them being in a romance in the sequel is almost guaranteed. In Age of Calamity, there’s the issue of King Rhoam approving his daughter courting a commoner, the court poet and Mipha are still alive, and while Zelda does care about Link, it can be viewed as either platonic or romantic.

Being a Royal Guard means that you’re one of the most skilled knights in all of Hyrule, and possibly reserved for knights of noble birth if the descriptions of the boots are any indication. Link was merely a soldier appointed to attend Princess Zelda, and considering he uses a knight’s bow along with the Master Sword, goes to show he isn’t officially part of the royal guard. His father may be one, but only because he worked hard for the king to grant him that position, and considering Link’s heroics in saving Hyrule and protecting Zelda, King Rhoam may officially promote Link to Royal Guard status after Age of Calamity. [While Link can acquire a Royal Guard uniform through quests and challenges, their connection to the main story is loose at best, so it’s a similar situation to the Zora Armor.]

Anyway I would say Mipha does not have the courage to go after Link, Zelda seems to be just as smitten with him in this timeline as she was in the past memories of BOTW. Difference is we don't have flat out confirmation like we do in BOTW. Who knows, Zelda may ask her father if she can date him, she would have Urbosa encouraging her to do it.

In the Japanese Translation for the mission “Lauding a Champion,” Link says that under the glow of the Luminous Stone, Mipha looked more beautiful than usual. Also in Calamity Ganon’s Phase 2 Theme for AoC, it plays leitmotifs of both Terrako and Mipha’s themes. Implying how Zelda is fighting for Terrako and Link is fighting for Mipha.
