You can eat carbs, but just in moderation. As an Asian with pre diabetes, white rice is my weakness. Lately, I’ve been eating about five tablespoons worth of rice (actual spoon) and more veggies and protein. It makes a difference!

That’s a smart balance 🍚🥦 Moderation is key! Do you find that pairing rice with more fiber and protein helps keep your blood sugar steady? 🤔🔥

@@YourHealthyLifePath actually, I’ve tried refrigerated rice. What I mean is, I refrigerate freshly cooked rice or freeze them. When you do that, the starches in the rice gets transformed and causes them to not be absorbed by the body as much. Your sugar won’t spike as much because of that. Try that.

I became obsessed with southern biscuits and gravy, which of coarse wrecks my blood sugar. Then it was southern biscuits and tomato gravy which was worse. I had some left over tomato gravy made with bacon, tomatoes, a little flour, and chicken stock, Then I put it over two breakfast sausage patties. Topped with two poached eggs. My glucose was perfect not to mention it's one of my favorite breakfasts.

That sounds like the ultimate comfort food hack 🤩🔥 Swapping the biscuit for sausage patties is genius! Do you ever experiment with different gravies, or is tomato gravy the unbeatable favorite? 🍅🍳😋

Love these recipes. Thank you. For breakfast, I normally scramble an egg with some spinach, onions, mushrooms and cheese. Very filling. I also eat a salad with every lunch and dinner. For my burger, I use mushroom as a bun or like someone else mentioned only use top or bottom of bun. I was diagnosed in August and I was able to lower my A1C from 12.9 to 7.2. Still changing a few things to lower it more. I did not want to get on medication although my doc prescribed metformin. I asked could I try without the meds. Follow the glucose goddess. She is very helpful. Wishing everyone the best. It is a struggle but y'all got this.

Cheese, no cheese, bread, no bread. So sick of all of this. I'm pre-diabetic. The menu my nutritionalist gave me has cheese on it. Nobody's an EXPERT. Eat in moderation, exercise, rest well. But most of all....Live your BEST Life. If it wasn't for all of this poison. We wouldn't have these problems. Jesus didn't. And neither did my great- grandma. She lived to be 102.

@@florawattimury9595 According to an Indian celebrity dietician, the best food for a person with Diebetis or without, is local, seasonal and homemade food. As long as a fruit or vege is in season ,it is more nutritious than others. But now we get everything in 365 days in the supermarket. But we need to choose vege according to the season. If we eat homemade fresh food, it is automatically less oil and healthy too. And again we need to follow the traditional food. They are much healthier and we eat certain food on certain occasions. Because there is a reason and science behind that.

Nice content but permit me to add a little............................. For individuals with diabetes, a balanced diet rich in nutrient-dense foods can help manage blood sugar levels and overall health. Here are some foods that are generally considered beneficial for diabetic individuals: Non-Starchy Vegetables: Broccoli, leafy greens, bell peppers, cauliflower, and other non-starchy vegetables are low in carbohydrates and calories but high in fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Lean Protein Sources: Chicken, turkey, fish, tofu, legumes, and low-fat dairy products provide essential protein without significantly affecting blood sugar levels. Whole Grains: Oats, quinoa, brown rice, and whole grain bread or pasta are high in fiber and can be included in moderation to help manage blood sugar levels. Healthy Fats: Avocados, nuts, seeds, and olive oil contain heart-healthy fats that can help with satiety and overall health. Fruits: Berries, apples, citrus fruits, and other low glycemic index fruits in moderate portions can be part of a balanced diet. Legumes: Beans, lentils, and chickpeas are high in fiber and protein while having a relatively low glycemic index. Dairy Products: Low-fat or non-fat dairy options like Greek yogurt or skim milk provide protein and calcium without excessive amounts of added sugars. Herbs and Spices: Flavoring foods with herbs and spices can add taste without extra salt or sugar. I recommend the book below for more insight: a.co/d/58gWabw

it’s a shame this comment has so many likes. A clear misconception and stereotype that’s dangerous to diabetics - yet again. High fat foods (aka cheese and many dairy products) ARE NOT LINKED TO DIABETES. Type1 is an autoimmune disease, aka no amount of healthy foods can prevent your biological makeup giving it to you. Type2 is linked with sugar - NOT CHEESE. It causes your body to be unable to create insulin by spiking your blood glucose, which is mostly caused by carbs. A Keto diet is recommended for most type 2 diabetics. What’s not ideal for pre-diabetes is SUGAR AND CARBS. High fats like cheese is not ideal for CHOLESTEROL. It also not tolerable for many diabetics but it is not a danger food and if you’re not lactose intolerant, is a staple protein for many diabetics.
