One of the things I always enjoyed about John’s videos ( and it’s just a preference I have over others) was his behaviour. No slamming weights around, NO swearing, no crude language, no blaring music.

@@larryhancock4388 I do go to Mass every week, and starting next Wednesday I hope to go 3 or 4 times a weeks during Lent. Thanks for your interest in my church-going. I still will get my 5 gym sessions in, and will continue to enjoy swearing-free videos, without people thinking they are impressive by cursing and throwing weights around while shouting over blaring music. Some people like that, not for me . That is all.

That last tip is pure gold. You're basically employing the weight to help squeeze those biceps to the max. Can't get any more squeeze than that at that stage. That was decades of experience talking right there.

I had just over 21 inch arms (pumped) at my biggest. But after doing bi's since 1991 and basically heavy since 95 I've developed some sort of tendonitis wear n tear on my lower bicep (right near the forearm). Luckily I can still do back, and concentration curls don't really bother it but I can't really do any other bicep exercises. I thought it would go away with rest but even after taking 2 months off back and bi's it flared up again when I came back. Now I just live with it. I don't need 20 or 21 inch arms. I always thought they looked a bit silly on me anyway. Staying around 18-19 but would be awesome to be able to do proper bi exercises again.

00:37 “ … I see them throwing the weight up … “ 03:57 “ … I see them using weights that are so heavy … “ Almost all those who commit these mistakes in the gym do so because they want to impress others rather than work properly. The golden rule is: Less Weight and More Technique. Also, “cheating” like at 04:28 is only purposeful for a slow negative: the one that counts 😉

At 3:10 "I've never met one person in my life that got huge biceps from doing this." Look at any male gymnast. They have phenomenal biceps and they do no curls. The first time I incorporated one of those gymnast straight arm biceps exercises into my biceps workout, my biceps blew up bigger than normal during the pump. If you try it, start with very light weight, and should probably never use any kind of heavy weight.
