We are on the exact same path. I just turned 54 and I got sober 3 years ago. I was very sick and basically days from dying. I found the energy within to quit after 35 years of drinking and now I’ve taken that energy and focus towards mental and physical health. I just joined the gym a month ago and I’m making great progress already. I have to force myself to take a rest day which is a positive. I already put on 10lbs. I love the way he explains the way he does his workout as he goes. Extremely relatable. I’m actually heading into the gym now and I’m going to try to do this routine. I’m an open book about my history so if you ever need another voice I’m here. Keep up the good work and stay strong!

@SoybooCowАй бұрын
Q: Why are you using your shoulders to bicep curl? My guess is, if you stood with your back against a wall or pillar, with that weight on the bar, you'd only achieve a few strict reps. Try halving the weight and remove your shoulders from the exercise. Additionally, the whole point of incline curls is to put, AND MAINTAIN, a stretch on the bicep. With each rep you move your elbow back into alignment with your torso, thus negating the incline. You're welcome...🤣

Paul - do you consider cable curls with a straight bar (from low pulley)to be a superior hypertrophy replacement for ez curl bar? It seems that there's more constant tension from the cable. I can ez curl 120 lbs for 8-10 reps at age 61 and my biceps aren't that big. I just started using cable curls instead to see if it makes a difference.

Maybe, but I’ve been there before and let me tell you for sure that it gets much better. Recently, I did another biceps workout that Paul came out with, for the first time, and I actually was sore for about a week. I used stretching and a massage gun to help. After the soreness went away I did it again. That time I was only sore for maybe a few days. But every time after that barely been sore, if at all. It just takes your body time to recover, especially if you’re working things that have either never been worked or haven’t been worked in a while. Just my 2 cents.
