Nice objective evaluation of Things 3. I have a love hate relationship with it for one simple reason. You can't complete recurring tasks early. Drives me crazy, and pushes me back to reminders.

Agreed. I love the design of things 3, but there are a few quirks that are dealbreakers for me.

Recurring tasks we can complete early in things3 . If you dont know please check with other regular users before complaining.

The widget not getting refreshed is an iOS constraint, not Things 3. Sadly, this is the same for all todo apps including Reminders

The repeating tasks on iOS is a little more clunky compared to others. I always get drawn back to THings though as its just so darn beautiful. This is coming from a Windows a Linux user using an iPhone!

Bro, new to your channel and subscribed. Regarding recurring /repeating tasks. If we right click on the task you will get "repeat" option. There is no need to go to File -> New repeating to-do. I see lots of people complaining about this in things3 but this is already there in things3 in the task itself.

Good vid. For getting to date field, hit Tab Tab. For repeating, you can right click on task to make repeating. Agree about background sync, hopefully they fix that!! Agree on Calendar integration. I still like the UI. I set commands for individual important tags. I put emojis in the tags so they pop.

For making a normal task into a repeating task, you just have to assign a date and then it allows you to make it a repeating task just like reminders. Not the best, but need not go to the menu for this

Great video. But the sync issue you talked about is the problem on iOS 17. They stop background syncing. Many developers have already reported the same issue to apple.

I've used the app many years ago and it was doing the same, so either it's an app problem and not of ios 17, or the systemic problem persists since many ios iteration.

To repeat a todo in Things Mac you can just right click the todo and select repeat
