I have had my two guitars for over ten years and have yet to spend 10 minutes trying to play them. Now that I am 71 and have terminal cancer, going to give it a try before I go. Will start with finger exercise to get them moving. Thank you. And nice intro piece

Jim, you might try doing the basic drop D progression scale. It's real simple, I too procrastinated for 30 years on NOT playing my guitar as I should have been. I do an exercise everyday now and I've already noticed my fingers are getting quicker and more in control on the fretboard, these exercises shown here are INVALUABLE to say the least, I'm going to add them to my daily roster. ✌💯👍

How’s your progress over the past year? This is a tremendous piece from Andrew as it has all the fancy moves that beginning guitarists want to be able to do. ( hammer ons, slides, double stops, a couple of long stretches across 4-5 frets ect ). Andrew Wasson hands a incredibly melodic style he never disappoints. Cheers 🎸

With the first exercise with your hand flat on the table I can move all my fingers really well except my ring finger. When I try to move it either my pinky or my middle finger wants to follow. Any tips on this? I have been holding those 2 fingers down trying to move my middle finger independently. Still struggling to lift my ring finger and it seems to not have the mobility the others have lifting off the table. Am I going at it the right way? Is there a way I can’t attack my ring finger more affectively? I need something I can do at work on lunch or watching tv after practice. Been practicing 15-45 minutes a day depending on my finger tips.
