I have a 80lb thrust Terrova with i-Pilot (salt water) and the mark on my front cone is oriented on the side and not the bottom like you show. I’ve never taken it apart.

To help with your question I believe if you have the “skeg “ parallel with the shaft meaning straight down the long bolts are going to be straight in towards the front and have to hit the holes. You will probably be ok by eyeballing it.

My freshwater 80 Terrova has bolts in vertical orientation as well from factory. No choice in this. The skeg points down and front cone mark is on the side.

Hola lo saludo desde.colombia donde por casualidad compre uno sin saber que los minn kotas existían por el atraso que tenemos en nuestro país ahora mela paso mirando videos del funcionamiento del motor pero en tiendo nimio por la diferencia de idioma me gustaría que los publicará con traducción al español así mi ayudaría muchísimo para a prender el funcionamiento y así poder reparar mi minn koya de 36 lb que no tiene fuerza no se si es por el tipo de batería o por lo que al canso ayer en tu explicación que son las escobilla, colaboramos por favor es todo ansioso de botaron al agua pero no meda la talla

So does the front come off on universal sonar or not?

It does, however a cable runs from the US2 plain end housing, through the motor, and up the shaft. The connection for the cable must be disconnected in the control box at the top of the shaft to completely remove the US2 plain end housing.

Do both of the cup seal face out towards the prop? You said the first one does but you didn’t say the second one did??

Yes they both face out. I took mine apart and that is how they were oriented.

Is the battery fully charged? You want to use deep cycle batteries. There are a lot of possibilities as to why it might not be working. There isn't enough information given to even suggest a possibility. Look at the brushes. Check for continuity on the motor like in the video. Mine stopped working because it was full of water. I put new seals in and new brushes.

Also witch way does the ball bearing go? You said one side is dust seal the other is oil seal?

Crappie Xpress, Are you asking about the bearing that press onto your armature? If so, it doesn't matter which way that bearing goes. Best Regards.

Crappie Xpress, Only one seal should have a metal cap. This is the seal that will go on the outside with the metal cap facing out. Best regards.

@@MinnKotaTutorials I’m no longer talking about the bearing. I’m now asking about the SEAL’s in the manual it shows 2 . They keep water from entering the housing via the shaft that the prop goes on. DO BOTH THE SEALS - cup face outward? That would mean without the propeller on you would see the seal cup that has the tiny spring exposed? In your video you say the first Seal cup faces out but you do not mention the second one???

Crappie Xpress, I understand that you are referring to the seals where the armature shaft exits the motor. There are 2 seals there and only one of them will have a metal cap. The seal without the metal cap will go in first with the flat side facing the motor. The 2nd seal will have a metal cap and that will go in last with the metal cap facing out. Best regards.

A y help greatly appreciated, I did not take motor apart guy who gave it to me did. I bought a rebuild kit (74-101#} I hv older RT74 trolling motor Minn Kota riptide, There are several parts I hv no idea one is a cardboard spacer or looks like a paper towel holder cardboard but smaller bout 1” dia. 1/2” tall and two thick rubber nylon type found seals or gaskets bout the same size, as well as where all the washers go and order they go in parts drawings schematics don’t really help tell me difference in washers. It’s just a pencil drawing anyone help me maybe ? Thanks
