Next time don’t use an aluminum pan without some kind of a saran wrap layer. The acid in the lime will dissolve some of the aluminum into the food and that’s really bad for you
@Dragantraces
@Dragantraces 4 жыл бұрын
This is what I just scrolled through all of these comments for. Aluminum and cast iron are those "reactive" metals recipes that call for "non-reactive" pans are trying to steer you away from. Lemons, limes, tomatoes, anything acidic can cause the reaction. It doesn't always happen. It depends on the strength of the acid and how long the food is in contact with the metal. But it can happen pretty darned quickly. And that reaction, while unlikely to cause you health issues, will make your delightful food taste worse than you can imagine. Using a barrier can be a solution, but barriers can be breached. Just use glass, stainless steel, or, if the dish is cold, like this one, plastic.

Yes. I agree. And I never even watched that show because I live in Ireland and it was probably on before my time. I was born in 1987. But I have heard about Mr. Rodgers and his lovely neighbourhood from originally comedy skits of it, then clips here and there from Americans mentioning it, and that Tom Hanks staring movie about it too. Over here in Ireland in the 90's, we had Bosco. A hand puppet with an actor and actress that...well...I hardly remember it...the show probably started in the 60's or 70's and then just kept going into the very early 90's.

I just got done watching your zebra cake demo. I loved it, by the way. I immediately subscribed to your channel now. Then I was scrolling down for something non political and low, and behold, this recipe came up from you. I do believe in hooked now. Especially with Vaentines day and Easter dinner coming up. These will be perfect for a quick and easy dessert. Thank you again. I also have the same name brand orange sqeezer. It was my mom's and given as a gift for her wedding shower gift in 1948. I will never replace this. It works much better than any of the new ones on the market. Mine is a different style. No metal cup is attached to it. It didn't come with one. Which is fine by us. We have plenty to use around our kitchen. We try to go naturally as much as possible in our home. Even make our own laundry soap, too. Lemons are great to use instead of bleach. I wipe out the stains in the kitchen sink. It also works on WHITES in your laundry. Blood stains, red sauce. So save the skin to reuse. They hold a couple of days in the frig. Also good for cleaning out garbage disposal by grinding it up. It makes smell fresh again. I'm not sure about the limes. I do believe they should work as well. Since the only difference is the flavor.

OMG phytophotodermatitis!! I have been dealing with this for weeks now and had NO IDEA what it was but it is identical to images on google! I just assumed it had something to do with either my photo sensitivity or my eczema. Apparently it has more to do with all the margaritas I made during our beach vacation. hahaha!

That was a very interesting lime burn story Emmy. Reminds me of when I was a teenager, renovating a house over the summer holidays with my carpenter dad. I got this weird rash, like large sections of my skin bloated out a few millimeters from the rest of my skin, as if there was a large pink rubber pad on my skin. I think it was the dusty environment that we where working and sleeping in, but Dad was unaffected. I have a lung condition that I think I was born with, and my Dad doesn't, despite his adult lifetime of construction work. My Dad's a tank. I'm guessing that maybe your husband's hands might have been rugged enough to have a protective layer of skin to help him withstand any juice that got on him. Gardeners, farmers and outdoor metal workers will know what I mean by a thicker protective layer of skin on your hands in dry weather. I'm guessing skin softening creams stop those thick layers of skin from forming, unless your working all day in hand skin thickening conditions.

Michelle well, Miss sunshine her age would have to do with it because as I stated it’s slang that kids use nowadays, and I would think judging by how she and Emmy used it and how I said the kids use it she would be able to understand she right because I assumed she was not an idiot. I also said I wasn’t being rude, which you clearly are. It was just a light hearted an example. Spread your misery elsewhere, please! We don’t do that here! Thanks!
