@SimplyJuliaLauren2 жыл бұрын
@@dearinsomniadontletthebedb9237 it all depends on what my hair needs. Usually about once a week because I’m very active, but I don’t go more than about 3 weeks

I've recently started making my own hair butter by blending up half and half and adding honey and what ever oil your hair likes and let me say... the conditioning is REAL!!! I recommend everyone use this method instead of purchasing high priced products. It was easier to detangle and not hard to make at all!! Using natural ingredients should be 2021 goals for sure!!

I 💕 the simplicity of this routine and needless to say; the cost effectiveness and reduced- time factor ! I have always wondered how hair growth of natural hair became so time -consuming and expensive. I remember as a little girl, my mum used soap, then shampoo and followed up with oils and braiding...no prepoo, no deep conditioning and my hair was mid back length. Thanks for reminding us of how simple and effective this can be...

I find that plaits are actually a little better than twist since there's about a 100% chance of having no breakage with them. Twist on the other hand, you have a slightly higher chance of breakage because of the twisting motion of the strands. Can cause knots and tangles also.
@SimplyJuliaLauren2 жыл бұрын
Ooooh that's very true. I like that twists take a shorter period of time, but plaits retain so much more moisture for me personally.
@nefertiti9109 Жыл бұрын
I started my dread locks in twists. After a few months short of 3 years I combed them out now when I twist my hair it tries to lock! Hair really doe s have a memory so now I must plait it.

And could you explain more in depths where you believe you went wrong? Thanks & i subscribed ! 💖 I'm your 700th subscriber so remember mee
@SimplyJuliaLauren3 жыл бұрын
First off, thank you so much for your support and helping me to reach a milestone!!!!😭🤩 I so far really like the plaits instead of the twists and I have had less breakage, webbings and tangles. I like for my ends to dry from the gel just so it doesn’t get in other places in my hair. While it might not look like it, I put quite a bit and don’t want globs drying in weird places. And what do you mean by where I went wrong? Do you mean last year?

I discovered indigenous tribes in late December I've been using her method for a good month now I just to sit at my hair probably a week ago but how do I maintain the twist do I check up on them every week or what do I do
@SimplyJuliaLauren3 жыл бұрын
I redo my hair once a week because I work out and sweat a TON. But when I wasn't working out as much, I was able to redo my hair biweekly or once a month. It's best to leave your hair completely alone in between your wash days so that you don't suffer any breakage from over doing your hair. HIHS is a huge reason why some of us (including me) have or had a hard time retaining length. I hope this helps!!

@SimplyJuliaLauren3 жыл бұрын
Thank you!!! Why is it too thick? Is it hard to work with? Do you have thin hair? How much are you using at a time? There could be a couple of solutions depending on the problem.
@Sabrina_E.3 жыл бұрын
@@SimplyJuliaLauren maybe I wasn’t using it right, but my hair is not thin. On my page I put my favorite products, and I just use almond oil.
@SimplyJuliaLauren3 жыл бұрын
@@Sabrina_E. I’m a firm believer in sticking my to what works for you long term. I had always used castor oil in some way but never alone and at first was worried about the texture of it and my hair. But when I stop and use it as a conditioner instead of an oil, I was able to find the right amount for me. If you want to stay with almond oil I say go for it, otherwise you could try mixing a little castor oil and transition until you’re only using the latter. (Remembering that you use less castor oil than you might others) hope this helps!

I will definely try this challenge but I have a quick question why don’t you deep condition?
@SimplyJuliaLauren3 жыл бұрын
I no longer need it anywhere near as much as I once did. The dryness we experience can also be due to over manipulation, but because I don’t go through this I don’t use it a lot. There are a couple times in the summer where my hair might need it, but I’ll quickly turn to my DIY coconut leave in before a deep conditioner to keep it simple. Hope this helps!
@ellayounge50043 жыл бұрын
I know in the past you used to use conditioner.... Do you still do this?
@SimplyJuliaLauren3 жыл бұрын
As far as Vo5, no; I no longer use it at all. I don't use any rinse out or deep conditioners unless my hair is really suffering during the summer. And even before either of those I will add back my DIY coconut leave in conditioner. I hope this helps!

You don't wash the castor oil off of your hair? My gosh, it's so thick and coats the hair! I use to use it, but I noticed that I had lots of build up on my hair. This happens with grease also. I love grease, but I have to make sure I get it all off before I add more or it will build up and cause water to not absorb.into my hair. I had this problem! I would.wash my hair and.it would.take so long.for my hair to get fully wet. It would never get saturated because I washed in twist and didnt unravel them to wash the castor oil or grease off. My hair would not shrink much because it was not getting another moisture. This my experience. Please take your plaits down and get.tje castor.oul off your strains sistah!
