@ Přesnou dobu vaření bez pokličky jsem neuvedl. Navrhl jsem, abyste to vařili pod kontrolou, dokud nebude chléb zlatohnědý. Protože když zvednete víko, nemohu vědět, jak dlouho se vaří, protože váš chléb nevidím. Vlastnosti litinového hrnce jsou různé. Vařila jsem ještě 15 minut. Ale jak jsem řekl, vařte to prosím pod kontrolou.

I've been making my bread exactly like this for over a year. Every time, I've got a sly smile on my face while I'm doing it. Can't believe so many woman have been kneading for several minutes, over and over, for years, unnecessarily.

You know, I think, kneading is for something. Now we make 1 loaf and eat it for a couple of days. My grandma used to make bread for several weeks, and they had to knead it vigorously. My thought is that it helps preserve the bread? The bread should have been able to spring back when pushed down, not like nowadays - you squeeze it, and it sticks together. That would be a shame for the old breadmaker.

I've been making bread this way for years! The one thing I do differently is use parchment paper. I put the dough in the paper which I have previously shaped in the cold Dutch oven, then holding the edges, drop the whole thing in. No risk of a sloppy drop or any burnt fingers!

The one missing step - After cooking for 30 minutes ... remove from oven - spritz - pop back in oven for 30 minutes, or until brown. I tried this recipe. But put in two tablespoons of yeast by accident. It was unbelievably good.

Not sure if it's because I'm at about 5,000 ft or what, but 1-1/2 cups of water was not enough to get all of the dough wet.. left a lot dry dough, added another 1/2 cup, and it still didn't look as wet as the video. Am using bread flour. Also did have to knead it, maybe because of the water deficiency. Will probably go to 2-1/4 cups next time and see if I can get by w/o kneading. I'm used to kneading pie crusts, so not a problem. Covered the bowl and set it in a warmed (~125F) oven to rise. Will probably add more water and knead it rather than fold it, then allow a second rise before baking.
