Thank you so much Michelle! I am so glad you are doing gentle osteoporosis exercises. After 11 fx in spine 2017-2018 with severe osteoporosis, I have tried to find gentle exercises but they would hurt to do them, I did these & it actually feels great! Looking forward to seeing more exercises. Thank you again!

Thank you for making the video. This is excellent. Can you make a video for one side of lower back pain, the part connects to the butt?
@michellephysio3 жыл бұрын
@LCarefortheworld there are many potential causes of lower back pain and so unfortunately there is no general exercise routine to relieve one sided back pain without a full assessment. There are general lower back mobility exercises and strengthening exercises and I can definitely make a video including these types of general exercises for women with decreased bone density, stay tuned and I'll get these filmed in the near future, all the best 🙏 ❤️

I definitely need these. I have early osteoporosis, and hope to reverse it. One problem is my symptomatic Tarlov cysts, so I must have no-impact or very low-impact exercises. I've already been doing some of your exercises from older videos. -- Wow, I'm so tight that I could barely move my arms out in that 4th exercise! I reckon I'll take it slow. --- Thank you!

Hi. I'd like to thank you for these first exercises. I compressed and fractured my back back on January 13, 2023. Surgery May 15, 2023 and have not done much other than walking since. I actually feel the pressure relief while doing these exercises. You said these exercises are for the upper back. What about those that had compression fractures of L1, 4, and 5? Is there any of these to avoid or do differently? Also I just received a recast last month. Yes this is what I'm trying to help myself with while I'm receiving no income till September. Thank you for all this information.

@user-gj2cr3wl7w Hi, thank you for commenting, I’m glad these exercises are helping give you some relief. Unfortunately, I can’t prescribe exercises on KZbin, this is something that needs to be done after individual assessment by a physio. In this video I presented exercises from a quality research paper. I will look to see if there is something similar for a future video on exercises for previous crush fractures in the lower back when healed at least 3 months.

Can I do these standing up?
@marleenmurphy66617 ай бұрын
I’m just wondering, when you do this exercise, are you moving your hips as well. Somehow, I perceived it as just rotating from the waist up and it seemed to cause a reaction in the erector spinal muscles.
@michellephysio7 ай бұрын
@marleenmurphy6661 Yes this is correct, rotate from waist very slowly & small range; avoid rotating too far & too fast esp. when starting out. This is a thoracic (mid) spine rotation & important to avoid extreme rotation range. Exhale with rotation & cease if any discomfort occurs. Also important to do when warmed up eg after warm shower or short walk. I hope this info is helpful!🙏
@marleenmurphy66617 ай бұрын
Thank you very much for your reply. I was doing exactly what you have just said so I think it’s because those muscles were already irritated from a long bumpy bus ride. I’d also done a bunch of housework and was tired. At least I know I was doing the exercises correctly. Very slowly and very small range of motion.

What are the solutions? On reply and what is the cause of this pain? Pls pls pls

Hi Micheal and thank you for the video. I had my Mom do these as she has osteoporosis. She didn't feel any pain and felt great. My only concern was a cracking sound in the upper back, between shoulder blades. I was careful to have her in good posture and back straight making a slight arc backward. Wondering what that sound that was ?
@michellephysio2 жыл бұрын
@Solid Galaxy pain is usually a good guide, if pain is caused then cease the exercises. Cracking noises can occur with joints moving. Should any discomfort be experienced during or after the exercises then cease otherwise if mum feels good this should not be an issue, just monitor closely for discomfort - all the best! 🙏

Hi I have a lambar disk bulge in l2 n l3 ... It's been 10 months and still I have not recovered... I have the worst radiating pain but for the past 2 months by radiation is gone but I have the pain still unable to come out of it what do u suggest
@michellephysio4 жыл бұрын
Hi Samson have you had a scan to see whether the disc is pressing on nerves in your lower back? Usually when this condition is bad the pain radiates down the buttock and into the leg. As the condition improves, the radiation lessens, the back pain worsens for a time and then is resolves (this is called centralization of pain if you'd like to research it further. I hope this helps a little

Why wait 3 months? Should you avoid trying to improve your posture for 3 months posts fracture?
@michellephysio4 жыл бұрын
Hey there this is because we need to allow the fracture time to heal. If you move the unhealed fracture then it won’t heal or will take longer to heal. So in terms of management ... 1. Promote healing and yes try to improve your posture during this time 2. Once healed then mobility exercises and strengthening - thanks for your great question! All the best
