Tony, this was brilliant as always. I'm amazed that the first two combinations (4 and 3) are actually some of the first combinations I learned, and some of my favorites also. Helps me improve my distance awareness and foot work, and also my right hook, which I think is often hard to get right for beginners.

I still practice your fav 4 combos (with 3 body shots). I've got several memorized, but those are a go-to if I don't have much time. Edit: I will certainly learn all these, mainly for exercise but it also kills 2 birds with one stone. So it's jump rope for 1.5 hours, lunges (with and without weights carrying a slam ball), bosu ball pushups (triceps), ab workout 8 minutes, then shadow boxing until can't go no more about 20-30 combos sets of 5 with kicking. Throughout the week on my workdays I do pullups and chinups (with or without rifle-level body armor) every chance I get. It's my system in my 40s and still work 60 hours a week.

I've practised combination number 3 a lot. It is probably the simplest combination I use ATM. I struggled at first though, throwing the Left Jab feint, then the Long Left Hook preceding the Right Cross. If I'm honest, out of about 25 - 30 kickboxing combinations I now use, usually 4 - 9 techniques in each combo, nearly all the recent combinations, probably more than half, are influenced by Tony Jeffries' punching combinations. So many of these videos made by Tony have been invaluable to my training.

I love chess and boxing. Here’s my comparison of both of them. - In chess white always start first - In boxing either of them can start first or even at the same time. - I’m chess both players have the same army at the start of the war - In boxing each player’s army has different strength and weakness. Faster vs stronger. - In boxing you’re under no obligation to make a move (like in chess). You make your move when you choose to Similarities - Deceiving your enemy by setting traps. - If you can predict what you’re opponent is going to do you can come up with a good counter attack - Both in chess and boxing If you control the centre you’ve got more opportunities - When you can make your army (all types of punch, head movement, footwork) to work as one unit you can win. All pieces in chess working together = One strong unit. It’s similar to composing music. - Both in chess and boxing it’s not over until it’s over. You may in up in points, strength, speed and stamina and your opponent may be barely standing after taking all the punishment but he can still win the fight by a knockout. In chess you may be up in pieces, time, overall board control but you can still lose by a checkmate in the last moment - Gambit in boxing, you make your opponent think there is a opening but it’s a trap for him to throw a certain punch or at desperate times eating a punch so u can land a good one - You may be winning but if you run out of time in chess you lose. You may be winning but if u run out of energy you’ll most likely lose. - In chess and boxing your army’s strength will deplete over time. Longer the war greater the loss. “There is no instance of a nation benefitting from prolonged warfare.” - 🌞 Tzu - In chess If you know your opponent is really good at certain areas (queen or knight) you’ll be very cautious with your game plan until the threat no longer exist. Similar In boxing you’ll be very cautious if your opponent has knockout power but once he depleted all his strength you’ve got more freedom. Same applies to hand speed and footwork. E.g., floyd vs Conor fight - styles make fights. Same with chess. The way you play will depend on how your opponent play. - "What the ancients called a clever fighter is one who not only wins, but excels at winning with ease” - Sun Tzu I.e., knocking out your opponent in the few seconds or checkmate your opponent in the first few moves. One crucial mistake in both chess and boxing - you lose. Hope it helps 😄

At 2:10, as you're throwing your 1-2-1, your left hand doesn't come back to your face - it stays down around your chest.
