...as a German Biologist - this is about Vascular training to speed up the metabolic shift to produce Heat - and distribute it fast. When I make THIS my Goal - it is never „Bad Weather“ - it is the training ground to improve my fast adaptability. Deliberately exposing to the actual conditions. The same for intense Heat - and no Water. When I make THIS my Goal - I enjoy each second... To focus on the actual Moment in situ... the same with horrible Persons... train to get along... Suffering is caused by PAIN we do not train to go away

Awesome vid as always!! I absolutely earned my miles this morning but opposite conditions to you! 30C at 6am. A couple breaks, lots of hydration, a much slower pace & a whole heap of self talk-“if I can do this, I can do anything” (well, that’s what I kept saying to myself🤣)

Wind was 15 MPH with gusts to 40 MPH for running today but at least the sun was out. Running in bad weather is quite a bit easier with proper gear. One of the tricky things running in my area in the winter is watching out for black ice.

100%! Great job getting out there and the gear is a game changer! Black ice is no joke! Stay safe out there ans keep up the great work!

if I think there will be black ice, then I won't go out! I've fallen 2x and broken bones that way... never again. That's when I do an aerobic video, go to the gym for weight training, elliptical or treadmill instead

@@burn_that_butter6829 I just try to run around it but that means that there has to be a fair amount of light out. I have access to two indoor tracks but it's often nice to just run outside.

i live on the west coast so we don't experience snow but i do my jogs even with pouring rain and strong wind. when it comes to bad weather there's no such thing-well other than thunder and lightning-hail the size of a rock! but other than that it really just depends on how good your kit is. you dress for the weather and often time it's super fun. im like a little kid when i run through puddle with my water proof running gears. people be like.."dood why are you going out?" to them i'd be like 'well i gotta get my training in..i haven't been doing my runs lately" while looking all stoic 😒but inside im like "i cant wait to use my on running jacket and pants-i wonder how breathable-light and good the water proof is!!!"🤓

I draw the line at lightning and extreme heat (over 100 F), but yes, it's great to train in a variety of conditions for all the reasons given.

Good one Brad, running in bad weather conditions, makes you more aware, that you are in control of how you are going to feel on that run, change the thinking from this is tough to wow, this is a really fun workout, 😬👏✅🍀🏃🏽‍♂️🥳

Reasons why you should not train in bad conditions. 1. freeze body parts 2. slip on ice and break a bone 3. get hit by lightening. etc

When I was training for my first ultra, I went out for a 12 mile run on a rainy, windy, 34°F day. When I got back and was struggling to get out of my clothes to get ready for work, my husband asked how it was, and I said it wasn't bad, my toes were a little cold, could he help me out of my tights? The amazed look on his face made me realize not just how bad@ss that run really was, but how bad@ss I'D become! 6 months before, I wouldn't have run in that weather at all, and now I wasn't even bothered by it. That's a total "cookie jar" moment, to quote Goggins.

this past weekend I did a full marathon -- and the wind was 20-40mph (32kmh-64kmh!) the ENTIRE RUN, only a small segment were we running with the wind and not against it! Luckily I often run in in windy conditions... but even so it KICKED MY BUTT.

The one thing that has changed my running forever, is the ability to go on a run from my house, which is a very hilly area, in all kinds of weather. Deep snow, wind, ice, cold , hot. It doesnt matter. Just have the right gear and attitude. 💪

If I'm running and it starts to rain, I'll finish the run, and if it's a race, just be careful of the water and the other racers.

Ran 3 miles in my neighborhood during a snowstorm once just to see what it was like. Running trails in the rain... just like a kid playing in mud puddles, but older. Lol

I run better in bad weather than good weather. It's probably because of the cooler temperatures, which makes me feel more comfortable.

Quick question I used to run in freshman and sophomore year of high school. My normal runs back then were 3-6 miles daily. I recently started running again (I’m a freshman in college) to work my metabolism since I’m trying to stay healthy. I’m wondering how it is I should ease into running. I can barely run 1 mile now without having breathing problems and lower back pain. I’m used to the muscle pain from running now it’s just those two. Basically, how should I get back into it and do you breathe in through your nose and out through mouth?
@Kelly_Ben
@Kelly_Ben Жыл бұрын
Hopefully they'll get back to you, but the run/ walk method is fantastic for getting back into running. An example would be run for 3 minutes, walk for 1, repeat. You'll hurt less, breathe easier, be active longer, and cover more distance- while minimizing your chance for injury. As it feels easier, increase the running and decrease the walking. 4/1, 5/1, 5/ 30 seconds, etc. In the beginning, go for time... 15-30 minutes is a great place to start. Best wishes!

Agree. Jog/walk 2min/1min x 4-6, 2-3 x week and build gradually. Look for consistent training slowly first and build from there.

The only problem is when it rains a lot the shoes get soaked quickly and it's quite uncomfortable. I can't justify buying water proof ones for the few days that it rains a lot. So it's swimming pool day instead 🏊‍♂🏊‍♂
