You should do Teflon bushings instead of steel washers. The torsional and shear load of the aluminum against those control arms during dynamic movement of the suspension will still cause binding with the added affect that the control arm is the softest metal and will sacrifice first.

@@DIllybarification fortunately for Rob, he maintains the belief that he can sleep after Sema or when he's dead. Rob when I was using a tube bender at my last shop they always came out like that. Take a grinder with a sanding pad on it and lightly take the scratches down or a DA sander than then put some paint over them. If blended correctly you'll never be able to tell when they have some paint on them.

@samalbury91834 жыл бұрын
@@thunderbirdizations no, billet means that it was machined from a solid hunk of metal
@thunderbirdizations4 жыл бұрын
Sam Albury what I mean is, he made a very complex shape without having to cut and reweld it. He started out with scrap, and cut off(machined) pieces he didn’t need. He didn’t cast it and he didn’t add/weld additional pieces to that sheet

PLEASE SEE THIS ROB!!!! Hey mate please consider an alternative material for bushings. Delrin or poly at the very least. Delrin will give better impact strength, elongation, self lubrication and better tensile strength. It seems like a little thing which may not need much attention but considering the build, delrin is the way to go. Poly bushings is next but you will have to lubricate them to prevent binding. Been watching for a while mate and enjoying the build.
