Adam, you will be able to pressurize an Accusump at those oil pressures and test it with the engine off in that method. Great idea from Mike. If you guys end up wanting another set of eyes on the project, we have some mutual friends that could vouch for my work and with the approval of Mike Vargas, I'd be happy to jump in alongside and run with the R&D side of things. I'm an Engine Calibrator by trade, with a specialty in Rotaries.

I ran the flow for my oil coolers on the scavenge side of the dry sump system in my car, so the is no pressure as it returns to the tank. Just used a thermostat on the tank return line, and it diverts to the coolers if it needs to. Works a treat considering I have a pump designed for a SBC stock car on a 2.4lt 4 cylinder.

Hey I just wanted to give a tip. When grinding and sanding parts don’t risk your fingers on a belt sander. Get a angle die grinder with some 2 inch sanding and and quality scotch brit disc. They work great for prepping small areas before welding or whatever it may be and much more precise!

If the pressure is spiking before the filter and cooler you have a flow issue. Something is a big restriction after the pump, before the engine

Bump stops will help with the rubbing, try massaging the oil pump tight clarence's build high oil pressure if you massage it a little bit to loosen up the clearances that should lower the oil pressure for you Adam. Badass car you and your team are building. Can't wait to see you ripping it

Up the oil line diameter size by 15% should help bring it down. Otherwise that oil sump needs to come off and be upped in size. Love the 4 rotor though!

When you prime the engine before first start you use the oil pump and drive it with a drill or something. You dont hook an air compressor line to it and just blow it b

Seeing that you have a dry sump, couldn't you just change the pulleys to spin the dry sump slower thus lowering your oil pressure

Assuming that is a screw driven oil pump, you could sand a few thousandths off the screw of the pump creating more clearance in the barrel and will in turn drop the oil pressure.

My built FA20 will go up to 150PSI on cold start, but has a relief valve so won’t go higher, even with RPM. I feel like you have a much bigger issue than 160PSI if your blowing coolers!

People use a drill or electric motor and spin the dry sump by using another belt on the pulley and spinning the drill and it pressurizes the oil system and primes the engine

Peterson makes a good oil pressure relief valve that will let you dump the excess oil back to the tank while holding the right pressure to the coolers and engine. I'm sure you guys already got something like that by now.
