I think you left the basic tip out: if you start out like I have, concentrate your first 5 races (while still E rated) on improving your SR. Continue on in your D rated daily race C's with that mindset. Never mind loosing those first 2000 points. My first 2 dozen or so races where surprisingly clean. If anyone bumped anybody that was probably me (by accident of course). Point is if you concentrate on getting SR to max you will paired with other safe rated players in your class. That will make it easier to improve DR stressfree from bad driving by others.
@Kireth3 жыл бұрын
True, racing in less than 91 SR lobbies makes things much more difficult! Still, once you get out of D/C lobbies the way to A definitely starts with starting as high up the grid as possible for you.

I went from EB to DA on my first day and DA to CS on my second day. I just did 6 races against CS and was Kimied off the track in every single one. In my last race I intentionally let everyone pass me on the first straight so I could at least drive for a while. I passed only people who crashed and I still got punted off the track by a guy with an S SR. First 2 days the good outweighed there bad but this isn’t fun.

Sucks when you put in the time and effort and qualify up front and sometimes pole only to get punted on the first turn and sometimes get penalized when is not your fault. DR goes down real fast and takes forever to increase even after winning and doing clean races. Went from B S to DD real quick. It helps to do the nation or Manufacturer cups to bring up the sportmanship grade but the Dr not. Right now stuck mid-level C for DR but got my S back for the Sportmanship
@Kireth4 жыл бұрын
It sucks when you qualify P1 but get skittled in the first corner, especially if that sends you towards a DR reset. The only thing I can say is try to take a line around the corner that means it's harder for people to hit you (or if they do it's not going to push you off track), like getting really tight on the apex. Otherwise daily race c is usually the best for recovering SR!

Might want to avoid bunp drafting. It pisses me off when someone bumps me from behind, they think nothing of it because no one got a penalty but I got an SR down. Race B and C this week. Two SR down incidents = red SR. I've been reset 2 or 3 times since I started this game and I've came close at Monza. At one point was down to 38 DR due to one of them last to first challenge jerks that decided to turn the race into a ragefest. I ended up behind them and caught 6 seconds of penalties from cars spinning and people brake checking. How did I recover? Option button into T1L1. You become ghosted. The idiots intentionally abusing the system bowling the turn and those few that actually made mistakes don't impact you. You will probably lose a few positions but most of the guys that will be in front of you will have penalties so you can overtake at the penalty zone. This works really well for a driver who has been reset, until their SR is back to max and DR is back to minimum B. Then you can attempt to start actually driving the corner as there will be less of the bowlers and most of the drivers are competent enough to not make T1L1 mistakes. Word to the wise. With the current penalty system, don't try to overtake in corners. If you can't get it done on a straight, you are just looking to get a penalty or piss someone off giving them a penalty.

It's true that it depends on the matchmaking and who's online at the time. I do think that *more* time spent qualifying pays dividends for DR rankings though. As an example a couple of weeks ago I didn't actually enter a daily race until I had a top 100 time - after that it was unusual not to be in the top 3 on the grid and pick up points.

@@Kireth I agree, it depends on match making and who's online at that time, sometimes I'm on pole some times I'm 5th or so with the same Qualy time. Trick is in daily races I try and practice, practice, practice and if pole I try and stay there and if 5th I try and move up. But if your stuck down in B=Bumper Car and C=Crash up Derby, its very hard to move up to the A's. I wish GTS would adjust the penalty system for bumping, then we would see cleaner racing down below the A's.

@@cjb-gr8156 just curious as I just watched this video, and read the comments: are you still in this same situation? Has it improved? What has changed and what have you learnt since then? I ask, because I started properly playing maybe about 4 months ago, and I'm currently B/S like you were then. In my case, the better I get, the more challenging my races are, better drivers I found and more I learn. Normally I always start in the middle of the grid. Normally I finish a bit higher than that, so I'm not taking many points, but I'm steadily gaining. Also, I know my limitations: I play with a controller... and I play Automatic, so I know that unless I get a steering wheel (which I'm not really ready to commit to a high investment) I will only get so far, but never to the real cream. And to Kireth if you ever read this, great vid, great content, you won yourself a subscriber here, and if you have any advice (not buying a wheel) I'm all eyes to read 😉 all the best mate!

I disagree with this idea of moving from D to A like at the speed of light, I find more important for you to develop surrounding awareness, when someone is going for a dive bombings what to do, learn to defend your spot from both sides of track, learn to read the RACE and opponents. When you got all this cards on your side and learn to manage It properly you are going to enjoy races a lot.

Tips breakdown to increase DR, learn the track, and win. There are way more ways for a new driver to increase DR, like clean racing, and not quitting a race. Avoid penalties, you said this one to stay calm, but left out the take the place you can get. Don't take our other ppl just to get the next spot. Chances are you'll lose more points taking out a guy than you would've gained staying in that spot for a clean race. You can't increase your DR until your SR is increased. Great video for advanced drivers. Not very helpful for the new guys looking to increase their DR to get out of the carnage of the lower ratings. What I gathered from the video was win to improve your DR.

Not trying to come off like an A-hole, just honest feedback. I did sub to ya BTW. I'm a new (1 month in) driver I'm managing to get out of the D & E classes, in the C rating now, and finding it much better racing. Still run into the guys at the back that don't like getting passed but mid-pack up is very clean. Starting to have much more fun now with very good hard racing.

Your theory does not work because if you are a Dr D rating you are not that fast so you will not be getting top 3 qualifying positions in the Gt sport daily races no matter how many hours you spend qualifying! also bump drafting is very dirty racing and you just lose you clean races record. And also the number on your car has nothing do with with DR
@Kireth4 жыл бұрын
I'll bite - the more qualifying you do the more accustomed you'll become with the track/car, you will get faster and you will get a better starting position in the race. As opposed to doing no qualifying and going from race to race.
