Bad parenting 101. Monsters? Ghosts? Imagination. *_A fucking human being, a grown-ass man???_* That is a REAL LIFE THREAT, *NOT* a fucking imaginary fear!
@AmazingAutist6 жыл бұрын
Mike Sowder No, that's the reaction of stupid people and lazy people who don't want to be bothered. Rational people will conclude that monsters, ghosts, and goblins are imaginary. Rational people understand that human beings are a real life fucking threat. Don't try to misconstrue rationalism with dull-wittedness, or clear-mindedness. That is an argument that falls apart on its own.

I know im way late but announcing the police are on the way Is an effective way of keeping a bad situation from getting worse Harmful and potentially deadly Ive been in a situation where things could have turned deadly for the perp Or resulted in me being injured or killed I wont type the whole story out But i had a stranger at my door late at night wouldnt say who they were Or what they wanted like a fool i opened the door only to see a teen/young adult standing in a dark spot with something in his hand I think the only thing that kept me from getting injured was the fact that i had my pistol in the ready position one wrong move and i would have killed that kid If i had not been armed and ready I suspect whatever weapon that kid had wouldve been used to incapacitate me and rob my house I should not have opened that door I should have just announced the sheriffs dept. Was on the way then things would have never escalated to the point that i had to draw a weapon

The moral to most of these types of stories is to always listen to your kids even if it sounds ludicrous.
@brandonleskil45234 жыл бұрын
The one with Patrick was so disgusting...just the emotional pain that kid must have felt during and after it. Children can't conceive of somebody purposely trying to harm them, especially in a way that they don't understand. I wonder if there's some way to combat that type of behavior from people, the sexually forceful kind, it'd be good if we can prevent it.

not a story, but ive stayed in the cabin. The first evening my friend stayed in a old dusty cabin deep in the woods at the end of a rocky dirt road, there was a lightning storm. the wind there howls and the tarps covering the outhouse slap the side of the cabin. its late and the rain is coming down in waves. deep in the night he awoke to screaming, just outside. he couldn't tell what it was but he described it as a woman being murdered. his two dogs quivered in fear in the corner and all he could do was sit in the darkness as lightning flashed outside from time to time, clutching his rifle for about 30 minutes of screaming. he stayed up till the sun rose. maybe a mountain lion got zapped or something.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm a huge believer in ghosts because it's a part of my religion (I am Hmong). I like to call them spirits more than ghosts. Similar to the the first story, in my culture, I have been told that we should never ever sleep under a window while it is open because it means you are inviting the dead to sleep with you.There is also a story, not mine, that is well known in my Hmong community (I think) and I'll paste it here: There was one really old Hmong couple that had no kids. Since they didn't really have anyone to take care of them, they were always short on money and didn't have any money for an AC during the summer. One night the man told his wife, since it was so hot, then they should move the bed right under the window and open the window, so it wouldn't be so hot while they slept. The wife agreed, and they moved the head of the bed right beneath the window. As they were sleeping, the lady felt something touching her face, so thinking that maybe it was just bugs, she just whipped her face with her hands trying to get w/e it was to buzz off. Then again she felt something touching her face. She did the same thing once again. A few moments later, again she felt something touching her face. This time she was ticked off and tried to grab w/e was touching her face so she could squash it. As soon as she caught it, she noticed it wasn't a bug but felt like a small hand. She opened her eyes and noticed she was holding onto a little hand that came from outside the window. She kicked her husband, and as he awoke, he witnessed what she was holding. A little in shock, he immediately looked outside to see if there was anyone right out by their window in case it was a burglar. What he saw was nothing but a really long arm that came from the woods which was about 20 feet away. He immediately told his wife to let go. As soon as she did, the hand shot back like a rubber band back to the forest. He told his wife what he saw, and immediately they freaked out and shut the window being forced to stay up all night. The old folks said something about how you aren't supposed to sleep like that because it meant you were welcoming the dead to come sleep with you or something. That was why the hand was bothering the old lady because it was searching for an open spot to come sleep. I just wanted to mention it since I have it sounded pretty similar to what I believe in. Whether you believe me or not is up to you. (:
