When I was a teenager, my mom told me that if a guy spends money on you, he's going to want something in return. It's something I've kept in mind ever since. I don't think that's pessimism--I think it's just facts. If I go on a first date and I don't think I'm ever going to go on a second, I'll split the bill. If I'm interested in seeing the guy again, I'll let him pay if he offers (and then I'll pick up the tab next time). It just makes sense to me.

Many stalkers do not appear to recognize that they are the issue. I do feel for him for the bullying and depression he suffered, but very happy for him that he is in a good place now, and in a healthy, mutual relationship!

It is very rare that a stalker actually has, or develops, insight into their behavior. It's great that he was able to stop himself from acting on those urges and eventually become a good family man.

I agree. Rejection can hurt like a bitch but it can also be a blessing too. Not everybody he meets is gonna be their cup of tea and that's fine. People have the right to associate with whomever they want. The girl that shot him down the way she did along with her clique laughing with her are immature. if I was another student and saw this, I'd confront them on their behavior and tell them what they just did was wrong. Also, they should put themselves in that young man's shoes and think about what would happen if some cute guy they'd fancy did the same thing to them. I'll bet my top dollar they wouldn't like it either. If they want respect, they need to give it. You get what you give.

No, no, no. If story #2 is true, it doesn’t make sense that he’d feel comfortable approaching her HOUSE, but not simply striking up a conversation (especially based on their supposed school interaction); this sounds more like some kind of incel fiction. Further, she would never, even under the circumstance that he helped with class work, be under an obligation to date him. A crush is okay, a nonsensical guilt trip leading to death is likely a sign of a psychological disfunction.

I had a stalker from September to March many years ago. During the day he followed me to my two jobs and at night he sat in the parking lot of a Mall across from my apartment, so that he could shine his high beams into my windows. He was the son of tenants in my building so he had a key to the apartment building. He left stuffed animals with the super for me, left me notes about having dinner with him, and then yelled at me through my mail slot usually at 3:00 a.m., that he was going to kill me. He phoned me at work 25 times a day and parked at the back of my second job and honked his horn incessantly. He was unemployed, so he had all kinds of time to do this. He even followed me on a date. He didn't come into the restaurant because it was my treat and I had picked a top restaurant and he would have stood out like a sore thumb. He followed my date and then left me a note later that he was going to kill him. He also phoned me to tell me that a body had been found in his garage. He blamed me for this because there was a note on the body that he was someone I had killed. The man was totally nuts! I ended the situation by waiting for him one night. I had had enough. I was a basket case by then, unable to sleep, lying in bed holding a knife, staying fully dressed all night and having only five minute baths and getting dressed again right afterwards. So when I saw him in his car that night I walked down the street to Taco Bell knowing that he would follow me. I got my food and walked back to the apartment. He grabbed me before I could open the door and we fought each other with tacos flying everywhere. He lost it on me and hit me, stole my keys and ran away. I had come prepared to fight him to the death with several knives in my pockets and in my cowboy boots. When I saw how crazy he was, I changed my plans and let him hit me. My super let me in and called the police. She also called a locksmith and I was finally able to get into my apartment after two hours or so. This guy was caught a week later, a week he spent really harassing me but always getting away before the police arrived. He tried to get into my apartment through my balcony before he was caught and spent several months in jail. I kept tabs on him and found out when he was going to be released. I waited. Nothing happened. I found out that I had been one of many of his victims and that he had probably moved on to harass some new woman he'd taken a fancy to.

Though none of these stories was directly or very strongly connected to any socials online, in my personal opinion the most "successful" way to attract stalkers is putting your pictures, addresses, private phone numbers and personal lives on socials - no matter, if it's FB, Instagram, Snapchat or whatever social media and/or dating app. Jmo, be careful with that crap and most importantly, put your settings onto "private" if somehow possible; and be careful with official accounts needed for your business/job. & Also avoid traps like constantly updating your "relationship status" e.g. on FB; it might anger exes and/or obsessed persons, you didn't even think about for a long time.

Untreated schizophrenia can be scary as hell. My brother has it. When our dad passed away suddenly from a heart attack he accused me of hiding him in Oregon and that he wasn’t dead. He also said the crows talk to him, and he’s been violent with me and my mom. He would be up all night yelling in his room at nothing. He had a stick and he put a hat on it, and the two branches on the side had a glove and a knife attached to them. My mom told me he would grind up glass in the blender and chew it. I took him to a facility and as soon as we got there he said they were going to kill him and refused treatment. Unfortunately my mom had to get a restraining order because he refused help, she was in her 60s and he was getting more violent. I don’t know where he is. This was 18 years ago.

Story One reminds me of how one-night stands/hookups mystify me. The person doesn't know you; therefore, they have zero empathy for you. They're able to do whatever to you then or thereafter because you mean nothing to them. We're told not to talk to strangers or get in their vehicles or go into their houses, yet people lay down with strangers. It's so weird to me.

It takes alot to admit you have a problem mental or addiction, whatever it is. I commend the gentleman who shared his story about his journey. He knew what he was doing was wrong and many many ppl do NOT have that much self control. Congrats on your baby girl!!

Good on the guy for getting himself help. That could’ve turned really terrible really fast and ruined /scarred some lives. I do hope he was honest with his wife about his past. He’s done some serious work and sounds like he’s forgiven himself which is part of the healing process. Still though, I also hope he still is in therapy because you can never be too diligent about culling feelings like his. Also, with a child on the way it’s especially important he keeps himself in check so the child can have a good life.

Not sure about Americans but in Ireland we find beauty in it.

@@ken45y that's the point. And in Ireland I can see how that can be beautiful, but not the sickly type of pale. You know the one.

Every time I hear a bad acne story or see someone with bad acne, I want to help that person. Ive never had bad acne, but I’ve helped several people clear their face significantly with my remedies and advice.

Story 3: so creepy! One thing in my life that I never had a problem with was getting women. Women that were probably in most cases out of My league. so when I was younger I never understood why these guys would stalk women because if there was some girl that didn't like me I would just move on and try to find another one. as I got older I realized the problem was that there wasn't any women that like these type of guys. So I wondered to myself what would I have been like if there is no women that would give me the time? I hope not some creep like this but I guess I'll never know.

I really dont think the girl did anything wrong in the story with the man getting hit by a truck. She didnt remember him, she wasnt cruel or mean. He had a crush on her but that's not her responsibility? She shouldnt feel bad, its sad that he was killed but by no means did she have any part in it
@SnowyWolborg4 жыл бұрын
Exactly. If the guy just walked up to her and said, "hey, I'm xyz. Remember me from a few years ago, " then I'm sure everything would have been fine. Not blaming him for a getting hit in traffic, but that whole pseudo-stalking thing was totally avoidable.

The one story? "My parents convinced my mom to enter rehab?" WTF? Maybe, she means "grandparents", but the word "parents" was used. So,...kinda confusing? Earlier in the story, it had been stated that her "dad" had been killed, her "mom" was the drunk that brought in the "step"-beater. So, with no previous mention of "grandparents" or even "step-grandparents. So, I was like WHO TF IS BEING MENTIONED NOW?!

That "mother" who chose a lowlife drunk over her child, got what she deserved, I don't care how many people think it's rude, what kind of women bring trash like that around their child!! Pisses me off
@ChristaBlack-gn8ys6 ай бұрын
Girl in the third story didn't deserve to be stalked but she was still rude for allowing her friends to laugh, but also him mentioning he hasn't met a women as beautiful; then casually brings up his wife later💀
