16:24 you were apologetic about the light, I think it looks great, even on a screen a bit of sunshine makes people feel better, almost lighter in their mood 😀 I was thinking how good it feels to have the morning sun on my body

Wow! They all look delicious! I've tried your simple miso soup a few times and it always turns out good and makes me happy. I've bought a tamagoyaki pan and so far, I'm not very good at it, but practice makes perfect! Thank you for sharing wonderful inspirational breakfasts with us!

I made seabass for dinner tonight; whilst I was cooking, I was thinking I could save the smaller fillet and have it for breakfast tomorrow, Japanese style! I clicked on KZbin to watch something whilst I ate, and your video was here, showing us all about different breakfasts, a wonderful coincidence! If I have the energy, I might try making the tamagoyaki to go along side it, with some seasoned salad, pickled tomato and rice!

These look fantastic! What I love is that you’ve taken simple ingredients that are relatively easy to get. Any challenging ingredients could be simply replaced by something else, and all of these would still turn out amazing

For the vinegar, regular white vinegar or rice vinegar? I recently learned that we have a Japanese Grocery store in our city. It's not the typical Asian market. They specialize in Japanese products. I make Shokupan at home but they sell the real thing there so I had to try it. Honestly, it's hard to tell the difference other than I can taste a little more salt in the one I bought at the store.

Hi! I have a question. I wanted to buy the bonito powder you often use in your recipes, but I could only find dashi no moto in the supermarket. Can I use it instead of normal dashi powder?
@yuka_jp
@yuka_jp 2 жыл бұрын
Yes! Dashi no moto is same as bonito powder :) They translate different ways depending on the supermarkets.

Thank you for the comment! Are you in Japan? I always buy it from Kayanoya. It's a very popular dashi brand but a bit expensive and they don't sell it in the supermarkets. You can buy it from their shops or online ☺️

Looks delicious, thank you for posting! Is it common in Japan to eat such a elaborate breakfast during weekday or is more of a weekend treat? :)
@cheef825

I'm talking out of my ass as I've never lived in Japan, but in Taiwan (where I used to live) and Korea (where I'm living now) the elaborate breakfasts are more of weekend thing. On weekdays it's often some combo of eggs, rice, and the soup from last night's dinner. In Japan I imagine natto is in the equation too 😂
